John Lennon
a) When John became older, he became interested in rock-and-roll- a new and very unusual type of music from America, which John heard on the radio. His aunt Mimi gave him a guitar as a present and John played it all the time.

c) In 1957, John started a band. They played at school dances and parties. John asked Paul McCartney and his friend George Harrison to play with him. John and Paul started to write songs together and soon became popular. They gave a new name to their band- The Beatles.
