Внеурочная (внеучебная) деятельность школьников является одним из инноваций Федерального государственного образовательного стандарта второго поколения. Согласно новому базисному учебному плана она становится обязательным элементом школьного образования и ставит перед педагогическим коллективом задачу организации развивающей среды для обучающихся.
Учителя английского языка понимают необходимость использования внеурочной деятельности для достижения современного уровня владения иностранным языком. Мы понимаем, что в единстве с обязательным курсом внеурочная работа создает условия для более полного осуществления развивающих, общеобразовательныХ, воспитательных и практических целей обучения. Кроме того, она снимает психологические барьеры и комплексы, мешающие самовыражению учащихся.
Одной из популярных видов времяпровождения людей различных возрастных групп в Великобритании является викторина(quiz), которая может стать одной из интереснейших форм организации внеурочной деятельности по английскому языку. Ее преимуществом является простота проведения и отсутствие специальной подготовки для участия в игре со стороны учеников. Каждый ребенок может проявить свои лучшие качества, блеснуть интеллектом, поучиться друг у друга. Игра дает возможность каждому участнику определить свой уровень владения иностранным языком. И если он не так высок, то в командной игре результат будет зависеть от вклада каждого участника игры, слаженности и командного духа.
Идея проведения квизов для обучающихся возникла после участия самих учителей в таких викторинах, проводимых носителями языка в Великобритании , Британским Советом на Emerging Forum в г. Москва и языковой школой Дмитрия Никитина в г. Ярославле.
Проведение квиза имеет определенные правила, с которыми участники знакомятся до проведения игры, когда создается школьная команда. Квиз можно проводить для учащихся любого возраста, но больший эффект от игры достигается на старшей ступени обучения, когда у учащихся практически сформированы социокультурная компетенция и языковые навыки и умения.
Мы хотим поделиться опытом проведения квизов между командами разных школ, и это могут быть школы как с углубленным изучением английского языка, так и общеобразовательные школы.
Цели игры:
- развитие интелектуальных и когнитивных способностей,
- совершенствование социокультурных знаний обучающихся,
- интеграция знаний по английскому языку и другим учебным предметам, изучаемым в школе;
- повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка.
Задачи игры:
- совершенствовать языковые умения всех видов речевой деятельности,
- развивать коммуникативную компетенцию,
- повышать уверенность учащихся в собственных знаниях.
Проведение игры
Первым этапом проведением игры является представление школьной команды с использованием компьютерной презентации. Затем участникам напоминают правила проведения игры.
Следующий важный момент-это создание команд для участия в самой викторине, при этом используются разные приемы деления на команды, цель которого является комплектация команд из учащихся разных школ. Вновь созданная команда придумывает название и девиз, и после объявления тематики раундов выбирает тот раунд, за который удваивается количество набранных командой очков - joker round ( так викторина "Knowledge is power" cосотояла из 10 раундов: общие знания, спорт, музыка, география, известные люди, искусство, литература, природа, каждый раунд включал 10 вопросов). Затем командам выдаются бланки для записи ответов и игра начинается. По окончании каждого раунда команды обменивавются бланками ответов и проверяют ответы другой команды. Результаты раунда заносятся в сводную таблицу. По итогам игры награждаются победители и участники викторины и им вручаются сертификаты.
Особую привлекательность игре придает участие носителей языка в качестве членов команды, или ведущего игры (quizmaster). Так, в 2015 г. участниками игры стали студенты Оксфордского университета, изучающие русский язык на базе ЯрГУ им. П.Г.Демидова. А в 2016 г. ведущими игры были учителя из Эксетера, города-побратима Ярославля в Великобритании, а вопросы для рандов придумали и записали на видео студенты и преподаватели Trinity College, Эксетер. Обсуждение игры продолжалось на уроках английского языка – учащиеся имели возможность посмотреть видео и фотографии, сделанные во время игры. На вопрос: « Что особенно понравилось и удивило во время проведения викторины?» участники игры дали следующие ответы:
эрудиция английских студентов
интересные вопросы
общение со сверстниками из разных школ
атмосфера взаимопонимания, командный дух,
получение новых знаний в игровой форме
Как показывает опыт, такая форма работы может быть эффективной не только во внеурочной деятельности, но и на уроках, например, на начальном этапе работы по теме с целью выявить начальные знания учащихся, или на заключительном этапе прохождения раздела, темы, когда учащиеся делятся на команды и соревнуются между собой. Кроме того, эффективным может быть использование викторины в такой форме и на индивидуальном уровне, когда каждый участник показывает свои знания.
Учитель составляет вопросы викторины, исходя из потребностей учебного процесса, а игровой, соревновательный момент обеспечивает высокую степень вовлечённости детей в ее проведение.
После внеурочных мероприятий и уроков подобного типа, высказывание: «Учиться надо весело, чтобы хорошо учиться», приобретает конкретный смысл и дает пищу для размышлений.

QUIZ RULES
Maximum team size (usually between six and ten). The team members decide on a team name, often a supposedly humorous phrase or pun, which must be written on all papers handed in.
The person asking the questions is known as the quizmaster. Quizmasters also mark and score answers submitted by teams.
Teams will mark each other's answer sheets - teams swap papers to mark the answers.
