Types of ReadingPre-readingPost readingWhile reading Pre- reading activitiesPre reading activities precede presentation of the text.If there are key words in the text,they can be taught throughthe pre-reading activity.Pre-reading questions should be related to the text.Their aim is to give students a hint of thetext they are going to read. While reading activitiesTasks might be different depending on the aim of the lesson.If the text is a means to present new grammatical material ask the students how many times they met the certain grammar structure in the text.Another activity is to give students scrambled sentences or sections of the text and ask them to reassemble them to form a coherent text.Using true-false questions to checkcomprehension is also a while reading activity. Post reading activitiesAsk questions based on personal interest.Answers to these questions often lead to discussions.Tell students to ask questions addressed to different characters.Use role –play activities.
