NATURE IN THE 21ST CENTURY. The aim of the lesson: Educational: to talk about the main ecological problems of the planet; to give more information about environment. Developing: to develop pupils’ habits and skills in reading, writing, speaking and understanding; to develop their vocabulary. Bringing – up: to teach pupils to keep the environment clean, to protect the nature, to preserve natural resources of the Earth. The connection with other subject: Biology, Geography. Type of the lesson: revision lesson. Methods: question – answer, game technology, pair work and group work. Visual aids: pictures, cards, markers, stickers, placards, the grammar table, posters. The procedure of the lesson: I. Organization moment. “Шаттық шеңбері” T: Good morning, children! Come here, make a circle, then ask each other questions and answer them S1: Hello! S2: Hi! How are you? S3: I’m fine, thank you. What’s your name? S4: My name is Elnur. How old are you? S5: I’m 14. What season is it now? ... T: Ok, I see you answered each other’s questions, I think you are ready to begin our lesson. Before beginning our lesson I want to divide you into three groups. All of you come to the teacher’s desk and choose one of the stickers. T: So, today we’ll work in 3 groups. You know we all love our land. We love its green fields and forests, mountains, rivers and lakes. Earth is our home. We must take care of it. So let’s work hard to protect the nature. II. Now it’s time to check your knowledge. Task 1. IV. Task 3. Speak about problems of nature, describe the environment with Fishbone card. (pollution: water, air pollution, noise from cars, buses, food is not healthy, animals are in danger, plants die from pollution)
V. Task 4. What should or shouldn’t we do to protect the nature? You must give your opinion. The 3rd group must say what our country is doing to save the nature.
1. We should preserve natural resources. 2. We should use less energy – petrol, electricity and gas. 3. We should take care of living things and help damage birds and animals. 4. We should protect woods and forests.
1. We shouldn’t pollute the atmosphere on the land or on the sea. 2. We shouldn’t set fields and forests on fire. 3. We shouldn’t cut down trees. 4. We shouldn’t use so many chemicals on the land.
Grow the rates of the mastering the territory of Kazakhstan. The territory and area of water of the nature reserve completely withdraw from economic use, here is forbidden any activity, breaking wholeness of the natural complex, capital construction, herd the live-stock, hunt, collection of the plants, fishing and etc.
VI. Task 5. Pupils must draw up the ecological program. 1) Air. People must care about forests. Factories and plants must not throw gas and smoke into the atmosphere. 2) Water. Factories and plants must stop to throw chemical and toxic wastes into the rivers and seas. People should not throw rubbish and trash into the rivers and lakes. 3) Ground: People must not throw out trash and rubbish in the streets and in the forests. They must recycle it. We must put litter in the special boxes.
VII. Task 6. In the last task they will do using the method of Cinquain. For example:
Nature. Beautiful, Green. Think, Pollute, Protect. Oh, Nature, you are beautiful People … VIII. Evaluation. Giving marks. IX. Giving
home task: write a letter to the people who destroy the environment, explaining why it is bad to ruin the nature.
