Grammar revision by the help of Cinquain, innovation of current lesson;

Pre stage
Greeting
Greet with students and begin lesson. Explain the way of marking that during this lesson you are going to use different patches instead of marks. On this patches there are written some motivational rewards and prize words as: “The active student”; “Excellent! / Perfect!”; “Good job!”; “Silent student”; “I knew that you can do it”.

On the blackboard there is a logical picture and students should guess what is described in this picture. By this way they will know what is today’s session devoted to.

Distribute students handout 1.
Pair work. Students will work in pairs. In handout 1 there is a picture of one of the sightseeing places of English speaking countries. They should find where this sightseeing is situated and write why they are famous for with brief description.

Procedure: In handout 2 there is a passage about Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the USA. Divide students into 3 or 4 groups. Then explain them teaching technology of “CINQUAIN”. (see Appendix)

Materials: Handout 3 and audio CD
Procedure: This time students will work individually. Distribute them handout 3. There are 6 sentences in it. Explain students that they will hear some information about 2 famous cities as London and Edinburgh. Tell Ss to listen and put T (true) or F (False) next to each sentence. Finally agree or disagree with the statements, as in the key language. Give students time to think, and if they need put the type once more. Then check students’ answers.

Objective: To give students opportunity to travel to London virtually.
Procedure: Show students a video about sightseeing places of London and tell them to listen to it attentively, because at the end you are going to quiz them according to the video.

Activity 5 Team work
Poster Presentation
Objective: to enlarge and increase the students’ creative abilities
To give students opportunity to express their ideas and opinions
Time: 10 min
Procedure: Divide students into 2 teams and name them: “Anglo sphere” and “Albion”. Distribute posters to both groups. On first group’s poster there is a world map. Give the pictures or magazine cuts of the different sightseeing and etc. of English speaking countries and ask students to stick them to their places on the world map.
On second group’s poster there is the map of the UK. Give the pictures or newspaper cuts connected with the United Kingdom and ask students to put and stick them to their places on Britain’s map.
Students must find the place where the object in the picture situated or exist. It will help students to improve their logical thinking and increase creative abilities.

Text A The USA
The United States of America, or the USA, is a large country. It is the fourth largest country by area, only a little smaller than Europe. It stretches from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west. The main landmass of the USA contains 48 of the 50 states that comprise the country. The only countries that the main landmass of the USA borders are Mexico to the south and Canada to the north. In addition, two states are not connected to the main landmass. They are Alaska, the biggest state, and Hawaii, a chain of islands in the Pacific Ocean.
As for the population, it is the third largest country in the world. About 265 million people live there. While three-quarters of the population of the USA is considered "white", their ancestors were immigrants from other countries. Except for the Native Americans, approximately one percent of the population, all Americans are relative newcomers to the country. But despite the diversity of the people in America, any citizen of America is considered simply an American.
The capital of the USA is Washington, D.C., which is named for the first president of the USA, George Washington
The largest cities in the United States are, in order, New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, San Diego, Detroit and Dallas.

The British Kingdom includes four large historical areas: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and number of smaller islands. The Irish Republic is an independent.
Briton is a native or inhabitant of Great Britain. Capital is London
Albion is a poetic name for Britain, comes from the ancient name of Britain.
Flag is known as Union Jack, the flag has red cross of Saint George of England, the white cross of Saint Andrew of Scotland, and the red cross of Saint Patrick of Ireland, all on the blue background. Symbol of Wales didn’t include, because at that times Wales was united with England.
Anthem. “God Save the Queen / King” is British National Anthem. The words and music probably date to the 16th century.
Currency. Pound. The pound consists of 100 pence.
Regions. The chief regional administrative units are called “countries” in England and Wales, “regions” in Scotland, and “districts” in Northern Ireland.
The name “Great Britain” was first used in 1603. The British Isles is the name given to Great Britain, the whole of Ireland and the neighboring smaller islands in the geography books. Population is about 65 mln people.

Text C The Commonwealth of Australia
The Commonwealth of Australia is a federal state within the Commonwealth of Nations. Its territories are the continent of Australia, the island of Tasmania and a number of smaller islands. It has an area of about 8 million square kilometers. The continent of Australia is mostly a great plain with mountains in the east and south-east. The western part of the continent forms a plateau which occupies half of the continent. Australia's greatest rivers are the Murray and the Darling. There are five big cities in Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. Agriculture is the main occupation in Australia. Wheat and sugar are the main agricultural crops, fruit-growing is also highly developed. Australia is famous for its sheep. The great sheep-farms, called sheep-stations are found in many parts of the country.
Today there are about 18 million people in Australia; most of them are of British origin. There are now only 40000 full aborigines in the country. The Commonwealth of Australia is a self-governing federal state. Formally the head of the state is the King or Queen of England represented by the Governor-General. The Commonwealth of Australia consists of six states and two territories: the Northern Territory and The Federal Capital Territory is the land around the Federal Capital, Canberra.

What is the name of the country which has volcanoes and rivers of ice, deer and sea-elephants? It is New Zealand, called the Land of the Long White Cloud by the Maoris. New Zealand is an island country. It is made up of three islands: the North and South Islands and Steward Island. Most of its people live in North Island, and that is where you find big volcanoes like Egmont and Tongariro and the boiling pools and geysers and lakes of bubbling mud. Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington are the biggest cities. Wellington is the capital. South Island is larger than North Island and has the highest mountains. There you can find the snow-capped Southern Alps, rising 3.764 meters to the tip of Mount Cook (named after Captain Cook, of course, because he visited the islands before sailing on westwards and discovering the eastern coast of Australia). South Island is very beautiful with its Alps and lakes, its glaciers. The Sunderland Falls, where water drops six hundred meters.
North Island is where you find the Maoris, the native people who lived in these islands hundreds of years before the white man came. Most of them live near Auckland.

Cinquain – is one of the technologies used in the stage of Reflection, which summarizes the concept.it is nonstandard solution of standard questions. It is universal in working with information (text, video or audio).

What is “CINQUAIN”?It’s history
Cinquain – is a special poetic form, developed by American poetess Adelaide Crapsey in the USA at the beginning of XX century who was influenced by Japan Poetry “Khanku and Tanka” .

Cinquain – is a French word, which means “5 lines”, i.e. a special 5 line poem which appears as a result of analyzing and synthesing the information. It’s easy to understand. This technology considered as invaluable, because information, ideas, feelings are expressed by several words.
It is fast, but powerful tool of “reflection”.
