topic: “England. Customs and traditions”
Выполнила: Студентка 5курса 51ф гр. Фролова Елизавета.
Воспитательная задача: воспитание уважительного отношения к обычаям и традициям стран изучаемого языка.
Educational aim: education of respect for the customs and traditions of the country which language they are studied.
Цели: 1. совершенствование умений чтения по теме “England. Customs and Traditions”
2. развитие языковой догадки, логического мышления, познавательных способностей учащихся
Aims: 1. Improving of the skills of reading to the theme “England. Customs and Traditions”
2. Development of linguistic speculation, logical thinking and cognitive abilities of students
Сопутствующие задачи: 1. Совершенствование произносительных навыков
2. расширение кругозора и формирование социокультурной компетенции учащихся.
3. знакомство с обычаями и традициями Англии.
Subsidiary aims: 1. Improving of pronunciation skill

Речевой материал: страдательный залог, текст, лексические единицы по данной теме.
Structures: a kilt, a tartan, chieftain, the rebels, weave, rebellions, struggle.
Оснащение: текст, наглядность, карточки с упражнениями.
Aids: text, pictures, cards with exercises.
Психофизиологические особенности старшего школьника.
Учение - ведущая деятельность старшеклассника. Под влиянием специфической для старшего школьника организации учебной деятельности существенно изменяется мыслительная деятельность старших школьников, характер их умственной работы. Мыслительная деятельность старшеклассников характеризуется более высоким уровнем обобщения и абстрагирования.  B их мышлении преобладает аналитико-синтетическая деятельность, стремление к сравнениям. Старшие школьники оценивают учебный процесс с точки зрения того, что он дает для их будущего. Они отличаются достаточно высокой физической работоспособностью и относительно меньшей утомляемостью.
Teaching is a leading activity of school student. Under the influence of particular activity for older student their thinking activity is changed significantly and the nature of their mental work. Intellectual activity of student is characterized by a high level of generality and abstraction. In their mentality prevails analytic-synthetic activity and the desire for comparison. Older students appreciate the learning process in terms of what he gives for their future. They have high physical ability to work  and they less fatigue.

Answering teacher’s questions T: the subject of today’s discussion is traditions and customs of England. Who knows any English traditions and customs?
T: Good for you. Who tells me what national clothes have England?
-Good. And in Russia what clothes is national?
-Ok, now tell me what do people wear in Scotland?
This is called kilt. Their colorful cloth is called tartan — a woolen cloth with a pattern of lines of different widths and different colors. Each clan in the Highlands has a certain color associated with it and a certain checked pattern which they wear on the kilt and the plaids.
T: Do you know what does the word "clan" mean?
-You are right. word "clan" means "family”.
-Good for you. And now we are going read the text Scottish Clans and their Tartans. P1: There are different holiday customs and traditions in England. For example Halloween, Thanksgiving day.
P2: They wear
P3: In Russia they wear sarafans, ….P4: In Scotland men wear skirts.
P5: It’s interesting.
P6: It is something like settlement.
P7: May be it’s like family. Teacher gives copies with the text to pupils.
Pupils give their suggestions.
3. Preparation for reading 2min T Class T: What do you think about what this text? Tell me your opinions.
T: Good, thank you. P1: I think this text is about history of Scotland.
P2: In my opinion this text is about creation of the tartans. 4. look-up reading 2min T Class T: Now I’ll give you one minute you should look through the text and tell me if it is interesting for you.
-Good. P1: I can tell you that it is interesting for us to get to know about history of Scottish Clans. Pupils look through the text.
5. reading for general understanding the text 4min T Class
Choir working T: now read the whole text and underline new words for you.
-Read the sentences where you find new words.
-Repeat these words after me.
-Good P:The rebels were hunted… etc Pupils read the text.
Teacher tries to explain the meaning of the words. She doesn’t translate them.
Class pronounce words in chorus.
6. doing exercises 12 min T ClT: Now I think that you understand the text and I give you the first task. Translate sentences from Russian into English using new words and word combinations.(appendix1)
-Ok. Listen to me please. I’ll read sentences from the text and you must mark if it is true or false. (appendix 2)
-Good for you. Teacher gives cards.
Pupils do the task.
7. retelling the text 10 min P ClT: I divide you in 2 variants. The first variant retell about Scottish Clans. The second variant retell about Scottish tartans using new words and word combinations. Do not pry into text. Pupils retell the text.
8. conclusion 2min T ClT: What do you get to know during our lesson?
