С ИСПОЛЬЗОВАНИЕМ МЕТОДА "SIX" THINKING" HATS"
ЦЕЛИ фрагмента: формирование критического мышления обучающихся на основе использования метода «Шесть шляп мышления»; совершенствование умения высказывать свою точку зрения, доказывать ее; развитие навыков обучения в сотрудничестве; воспитание уважения к мнению других людей.
ОСНАЩЕНИЕ ФРАГМЕНТА: шляпы и картинки с изображением разноцветных шляп; текст учебника; речевые образцы.
ХОД ФРАГМЕНТА
I. ВСТУПИТЕЛЬНОЕ СЛОВО УЧИТЕЛЯ
T:I hoe you are OK, aren’t you? Well, I remind you that the topic of our lesson is "Money in our life". It is said that money oils the wheels of the world. It cannot be denied that money is a vital part of our life. But today I would like you to express your personal opinion and give reasons for it. Try to answer the question "what role does money play in our life?". You'll read the text and then you will try to express your way of thinking about the topic by wearing a range of different ‘thinking’ hats. But first, I would like you to show me how well you understand and remember what tasks are performed by these coloured hats. Could you characterize in what way we should think while wearing a hat of definite colour?
II. СООБЩЕНИЯ ОБУЧАЮЩИХСЯ
TYPES OF THINKING "SIX "THINKING" HATS"
WHITE HAT
P1:In this phase we think about the facts of what we are learning. We think about what facts we have and what facts we need to understand.
P2:I completely agree with…..We think facts, figures. Without emotions, without subjective evaluations. Just facts!!! You can quote someone's subjective point of view, but dispassionately, as a quote.
RED HAT
P1:This stage is characterized by an emotional response to what we are learning. The question is - what do I feel about this issue? Also we try to think how other people will react emotionally.
P2:Wearing the red hat, we look at problems using intuition and emotion. Sometimes emotions help us more exactly define the direction of the search and careful analysis
BLACK HAT
P1:In this stage we use our judgment. But we can use our critical judgment. We think about problems and dangers.
P2: You are quite right…! We must try to answer the questions – what could be the potential problems? What could some of the difficulties be?
YELLOW HAT
P1:Herewe use our judgment again. However, now we are positive. We think about the advantages, benefits, hopeful side to what we are learning.
P2:OK…It is the optimistic point of view that helps us to see all the benefits of the decision and the value in it. Yellow Hat thinking helps us to keep going when everything looks gloomy and difficult.

GREEN HAT
P1:This is the creative phase. This is where you can develop creative solutions to a problem. It is a freewheeling way of thinking, in which there is little criticism of ideas.
P2:I want to add - wearing A Green Hat, you should answer the questions - What else can be done? Are there other ways that this can be done? What will overcome our difficulties?
BLUE HAT
P1:This is a development of the creative phase, but here we consider the ‘overall’ picture.
P2:We must try to answer the questions -What are the consequences of what I am learning? What should I learn next? What is my response to this? What is our decision?
III. ЧТЕНИЕ ТЕКСТА И ОБСУЖДЕНИЯ ПРОЧИТАННОГО
1) T: OK, students, I'm satisfied with you answers. Now I'm going to announce which of the 6 coloured hats each of you will "wear". The White Hat , the Red Hat and the Green Hat are for everybody; then, I would like Katya, Irina and Kostya to "wear" the Black Hat; Anya, Nastya Vishnyakova and Nastya Polyakova, the Yellow Hat is for you, girls ; and at last, Nastya Glukhovskaya and Sasha, the Blue Hat is yours.

T: Don't forget to use the phrases on the blackboard. Let's read them.

T:.Now, open you textbooks, please, and read the text "What makes money valuable?" (page 103, ex.21) and try to formulate your points of view. I give you 5 minutes.

T: Are you ready to start discussion? OK, friends. Let's begin with the Blue Hat, please.
THE BLUE HAT
1).Money is a vital part of our life. There is something that makes money valuable. But, what makes money valuable?
T: So, the topic has been indicated. Thanks. Now, I want everybody to put on the White Hat and inform us what facts you have learnt from the text.

THE WHITE HAT
1).We use money every day to pay for things we buy.
2).There is also another kind of money, such as checks, credit cards, and travellers' checks.
3).Thousands of years ago, money was not used. Instead, man had the "barter" system.
4).In the past, people used shells, beads, cocoa beans, salt, grain, tobacco, skins and even cattle.
5).Coins were first used in China.
6).Today we have bills and coins issued by the government.
T:OK. Thank you. Can you put on the Red Hat, please, and answer the question - what do you feel about money?
THE RED HAT
1).To my mind, money is evil!
2).I think, money is the most important thing in the world!
3).I am sure, money is happiness!
4).As for me, I love money. It’s cool!
5).Personally I don't care much about it.
6).Money is danger!
7).Money is a great thing.
T: Well, you've expressed your points. Now it's term of the Black Hat. Katya, Irina and Kostya, tell us what you think using your critical judgment.
THE BLACK HAT
1).Money is only paper, but I consider, it has been given too much importance and it has become people’s new God. Money becomes a kind of addiction for many people. Such people can commit even crimes to get big money.
2).To my mind, money can spoil people. Rich people start using their money for evil purposes overusing their power and thinking that everything can be bought and everybody can be controlled.
3).In my opinion, money is danger. Millionaires have to spend much money on security, but sometimes even such steps don't help. Rich people are often robbed, killed and kidnapped (or their close people can be kidnapped and killed).
T: Thank you, boys and girls. It was good. Anya, Nastya Vishnyakova and Nastya Polyakova, put on your Yellow Hats, please, and tell us about the advantages, benefits, hopeful side to the topic.
THE YELLOW HAT
1).I am sure, money is a good thing! First, it makes possible exchange and trade. Money makes it possible to exchange your work for something you want. Second, money is a "yardstick of value". It may be used to measure and compare the values of various things. Moreover, money is a "storehouse of value" and it also serves as a "standard for future payments".
2).I suppose, that money makes people satisfied. With lots of money you can get a prestigious education, travel around the world and support your family. Besides, if you have a large income people think you are very successful and respect you more. Finally, being rich means you can help poor people.
T: Thank you, girls, for your positive judgments. It's time for everybody to put on the Green Hat and try to develop creative solutions to the problem. You should express your own opinion.
THE GREEN HAT
1).To start with, there are a lot of things that we can buy for money. It helps us to make our life more comfortable, for example, if I had much money, I would have different modern conveniences.

2). Money alone cannot change the world by itself , but it provides opportunities for this. And how do you manage it, depends on your own system of value.
3). There are a lot of people nowadays who consider pocket money to be unnecessary in the life of a teenager. Others argue that having their own money teaches young people financial responsibility. Personally I think , we should have pocket money, because it can give us the feeling of independence.
4). We create our future and if we want to live without problems, we should have money. I wish I had a lot of money to be able to get good education.
5). If I had lots of money, I would spend it on the support of poor people and stray animals .
6).Today, there are so many other ways to earn money and to spend it. There are traveller’s checks, credit cards, deposits, loans, etc. They gradually replace paper notes and coins. Some developed countries even have stores where cash is no longer accepted for security reasons. So, I believe, that in the nearest future money will vanish from the face of the earth.
T: OK, it was interesting to know your ideas , thanks. And finally, Nastya and Sasha, put on the Blue Hat and sum up the discussion.
THE BLUE HAT
1). Money fascinated people since ancient times.
There are two points of view on money matters. Some people suppose that money makes people happy, but others find money the evil.
2). However, one of the best things that money can give us is power. When we have money we are in control. If you have it, you can choose the way of life that is close to you, do the things you love.Finally, you can buy houses, cars and lots of other things, but, we must remember that money won’t help you to buy love, friendship and good health, which are the most valuable things in life.
