Открытый урок по английскому языку в 8 классе на тему:
«Investigation in progress»

Цель урока: создание условий для самореализации учащихся при решении поставленных в ходе урока задач.
 
Задачи урока:
Содействовать установлению в сознании ребенка устойчивых связей между          накопленным и новым опытом познавательной и практической деятельности.
Закрепление ЛЕ в речи учащихся.
Закрепление языковых навыков по теме, активизация навыков орфографии.
Тренировка навыков чтения с целью поиска заданной информации в тексте.
Развитие навыков аудирования с целью поиска заданной информации в тексте.

Активизация знаний Let’s start our lesson. Now I’ll give you the cards with the sentences. One sentence – one student. You’ve got one minute to learn it by heart.
Let’s make a story now. Put the sentences in the right order. You can come to each other, name your sentences and discuss their order.
Now let’s check. Name your sentences in the right order to correct.

Целеполагание. We listened to the part of a story. What is your opinion about the purpose of our today lesson? What will we do at the lesson today?
To do it we should remind the words and grammar (reported speech, modal verbs)
We will make a story and investigate the crime. Повторение пройденного в теме.
To make a story first of all we shall remind the structure of a detective story. You can see the parts of a detective story on the blackboard. Let’s put them in the right order.
The first part is the description of the time and place. We listened to the first part of the story. Now look at the picture. When and where did the story happen?
The second part is the description of what happened. What happened? What is the type of the crime was it?
What should we or the police do to investigate the crime?
The first part of our investigation is questioning girl’s mother. The task is to match the questions with the answers. You can discuss it in pairs. Now let’s correct. Please read the question and the answer. What useful information to investigate the crime can we find here?
Look at the picture. You can see a girl here. She is the main character of the story. Let’s describe her using one of the answers. Let’s make some more sentences about the girl’s hobbies. Look at the pictures.
To investigate the crime the police officer questioned the witness Mr.Hunter. You can see him in my picture. Look through the questions and his answers to find the useful information for our investigation. We have found one evidence and a suspect.
Mr. Wolf is our suspect. You can see him in the picture. Now look through the questioning of Mr. Wolf.
What did the police officer ask him? What did Mr. Wolf answer?
To answer my questions you should use reported speech.
Now let’s have a rest. Let’s listen to the wolf’s song. Listen and fill in the gaps.
Let’s correct.
We know a lot of information about the disappearing of the girl. So what happened?
I’ ve got some ideas. Let’s make the sentences using modal verbs “must” or “could”. What is the difference between them?

Once upon a time there lived a very nice woman with her young daughter.
They lived in a small beautiful house.
They were very happy.
Every weekend the girl went through the dark forest to visit her granny.
The granny was very old but she didn’t want to move to her daughter’s house.
One sunny day Mum came to the nearest police department because her daughter had disappeared.
Mum said to the police that the girl had gone to her granny but hadn’t come there.
A police officer questioned girl’s family and suspects.
