Социокультурный аспект: знакомство с личностями, которые наиболее уважаемы в Британии и США; знакомство с некоторыми соотечественниками, которые известны в России и за рубежом.
Развивающий аспект: развитие способности к формулированию выводов на основе прочитанного.
Воспитательный аспект: воспитание положительного отношения к выдающимся личностям и их достижениям; воспитание чувства гордости за выдающихся людей своей страны; оказание помощи в осознании и выборе профессионального пути.

Good morning, dear pupils! I’m glad to see you today. I hope you are fine and are ready to work hard at our lesson, aren’t you? So, let’s start our lesson.
The topic of our lesson today is “what kinds of people do you admire?”
Each nation has its heroes. Everybody knows them. Today you will learn some interesting facts about famous people; also you will know who the British, the Russians are admire of.
Besides, we’ll read interesting texts, learn some new information about articles and do some tasks. So, let’s get started.
People of different professions can be the pride of any country. What are these professions?
Will you open your books and find exercise 1, p.131? I will read a new word and you will give the translation.

You should characterize them speaking about qualities. In ex. 1 (3), p. 132 you will find some qualities.

Here you can see some people the British are proud of: Lady Diana, Horatio Nelson, William Shakespeare and Florence Nightingale. Start speaking from these phrases. And remember new words from ex. 4 and ex.2. They will help you.
