The geographical position of the USA

Тема: «Geographical position of the USA».Цель: Формирование и закрепление системы ЗУ по теме “Географическое положение США”
Задачи:
а) образовательная – выявить общие сведения и особенности географического положения США, закрепить использование лексики, связанной с географическими понятиями
б) развивающая – продолжить развитие исследовательских, творческих способностей, развитие умения извлекать информацию из нового английского текста;
в) воспитательная – формировать коммуникативные умения, способность работать в группах, повышать мотивацию к изучению предмета, способствовать развитию интереса к стране США.
Ход урока
1. Орг. момент
2. Приветствие
3. Проверка домашнего задания. Обучающиеся отвечают на вопросы преподавателя по содержанию текста, прочитанного дома.
4. Фронтальная работа, полилог с обучающимися, в ходе которого они отвечают на вопросы преподавателя: general conversation:
Do you like travelling?
If it were summer now, where would you like to go?
Would you like to visit the USA?
Is this country big or small?
Is it bigger than Russia?

The text is divided into 4 parts and there are 4 teams in the class. Each team reads only one part of the text. Then pupils sum up the information and write it down in their note-books according to the plan on the blackboard. They read the translation of the part.
7. Pupils answer teacher’s questions and discuss the topic «Geographical position of the USA». They use the map of the country.
