Презентация по английскому языку на тему St. Valentine’s Day

St. Valentine’s Day is the day for exchanging love messages, chocolates, roses and promises. Valentine's Day started in the time of the Roman Empire. The following day, February 15th, began the Festival of Lupercalia. The boys wrote the names of Roman girls on slips of paper and put them in the jar. Each young man would take a girl's name from the jar and they would be partners till the end of the festival. The Roman Emperor Claudius believed that single men were better soldiers. Claudius cancelled all marriages and engagements in Rome. Saint Valentine was a priest who married young couples secretly. Valentine was put to death on the 14th day of February.
