MUSIC genres & STYLESMusic can be described in terms of many genres and styles. Classifications are often arbitrary, and closely related forms often overlap. Larger genres and styles comprise of more specific sub-categories. "Classical music" "Classical music" and "art music" are terms that have been used to refer to music of different cultural origins and traditions. Such traditions often date to a period regarded as the "golden age" of music for a particular culture. BLUESBlues is a genre and musical form that originated in African-American communities in the "Deep South" of the United States around the end of the 19th century. The genre developed from roots in traditional African music, combined with European American folk music. Celtic musicCeltic music is a broad grouping of music genres that evolved out of the folk musicaltraditions of the Celtic people of Western Europe.[1][2] It refers to both orally-transmitted traditional music and recorded music and the styles vary considerably to include everything from "trad" (traditional) music to a wide range of hybrids. JazzJazz is a music genre that originated from African American communities of New Orleans in the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Reggae Reggae is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora.[1]While sometimes used in a broad sense to refer to most types of popular Jamaican dance music, the term reggae more properly denotes a particular music style that was strongly influenced by traditional mento and calypso music, SoulSoul  is a style of blues music developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s that combines elements of soul music and urban contemporary music. This is a subgenre of blues that is very popular with African American audiences but less known by white audiences.
