My favourite sport I like winter sport. My favourite winter sport is figure skating. It is a very beautiful sport. Figure skating makes people strong and fit. It helps to be self-confident and patient. It teaches to win and to lose. But figure skating takes a lot of time and energy and causes a lot of injuries. Sometimes it is very dangerous. My favourite figure skater is Yekaterina Gordeyeva. She was born on the 28. of May 1971 in Moscow. At the age of 3 years old she began to skate. At the age of 10 years old Katya began to skate with Sergey Grinkov. He was 14 years old. Katya and Sergey danced wonderfully. They began to take part in Europe und world championships in 1986. They competed in 4 Europe championships in 1986, 1988, 1990, 1994 and won 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal. These figure skaters took part in 5 world championships in 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990 and won 4 gold medals and 1 silver medal. Katya and Sergey took part in 2 Olympic games in 1988 and 1994. They became Olympic champions. Katya was the youngest champion. They became professional sportsmen and went to the USA. The sportsmen took part in shows. In the USA Yekaterina began to skate alone, because her partner died from the heart attack at the age of 27 years old. In 2008 Yekaterina came back to Russia and took part in the show “Glacial period”.She skated with the famous actor Yegor Beroyev and became the best. I respect Yekaterina Gordeyeva because she is the best figure skater and a very strong woman.
