Викторина “Вы знаете Британию”.

Цель: Закрепление имеющихся знаний в области английского языка посредством игровой ситуации.
Задачи: Образовательная
Повышать познавательный интерес учащихся к языку через использование игровых моментов;
Закрепить умение употребления в разговорной речи;
Обучение навыкам восприятия на слух иностранных слов.
Развивающая
Развивать внимание и память учащихся;
Развивать умение работать в группе.
Воспитательная
Умение работать в сотрудничестве с другими;
Воспитывать уважительное отношение к другой культуре.
Комментарии: Урок проводится в 8 классе после изучения темы “Great Britain”,”London” и внеклассного чтения текстов по истории Великобритании. Урок проводится в виде соревнования (2 команды).
Ход занятия.
Организационный момент. Приветствие.
Good morning, pupils! I’m very glad to see you! Let’s start our lesson.
Ребята, сегодня у нас необычный урок. Мы поделимся на 2 команды. Вам будут представлены различного рода задания за выполнение которых вы получите баллы.
Представляю вам членов жюри, которые будут оценивать баллы и в конце урока подведут итог.
Итак, для начала познакомимся.
Конкурсы. ( по порядку).
Конкурс №1
“Greetings”
Команды представляют название, эмблему и приветствуют соперников.
Конкурс №2
Блиц- вопросы “Do You Remember?”
Каждой команде задается по 20 вопросов, на которые участники команд должны быстро дать ответы. Учитывается как количество правильных ответов, так и затраченное время.

“The Place-Names of Britain”
Участникам команд даются карточки с фрагментами старинной рукописи, из которых нужно составить названия английских городов. Это соревнование можно проводить на время: кто больше составит названий за данный отрезок времени. Конкурс 4
“Captains’ Competition”
Каждому капитану задаются по очереди 5 вопросов. Жюри учитывает не только правильный ответ, но и объяснения и дополнения по вопросу.
Вопросы капитану первой команды:

What is the national Scottish musical instrument?
Whose emblem is the thistle?
What do British people celebrate on the 25th of December?
Вопросы капитану второй команды:
What festival is held in Wales?

What is there in the middle of Trafalgar Square?
Конкурс 5
“Say in One Word”
В этом конкурсе учащимся предлагается назвать слова по их определениям. Слова взяты из книги для чтения в 8 классе;
supreme lord, a man who has a lot of land and many people to serve him (the overlord);
People who come to another country, begin a war to possess the land of another country (the invader);
The head or the church, the chief bishop (the archbishop);
The name of the magic sword from the legends of King Arthur (Excalibur);
A man who has superpower, a person skilled in Amagic (a magician);
Not being dependent on other people or countries (independence);
A man raised to honourable military rank by a King, usually on a horse, well-armed with a sword and a spear (a knight);
A building designed to serve as both a residence and a fortress (a castle).
Конкурс 6
“Pantomime”
Каждая команда должна без слов показать сценку из жизни короля Артура по одному из текстов домашнего чтения. Противоположная команда должна догадаться какой сюжет был представлен и дать небольшой комментарий на английском языке.
Конкурс 7
“The Best Story”
Командам предлагается составить поданным словам и фразам наиболее интересный рассказ. Жюри учитывает количество использованных слов и участие всех играющих в рассказе. Команды получают следующие слова;

Конкурс 8
Команды задают друг другу по 3 вопроса, которые начинаются словами: “ А почему в Англии?” и стараются дать на них остроумные ответы. Этот конкурс можно провести на родном языке, т.к. по-русски детям легче будет выразить юмор.
Конкурс 9
“SingaSong”
Викторина завершается музыкальным конкурсом, на котором команды представляют подготовленные заранее песни на английском языке.

На этом наша викторина подошла к концу! Жюри подводит итоги! Итак, выиграла команда…..! Поздравляем вас!

Как правило, проведение таких мероприятий как приведенная выше викторина, неизменно встречает одобрение среди учащихся. Они начинают подготовку задолго до назначенного срока, проявляя при этом большую активность. Такие встречи с учащимися во внеурочное время дают им возможность свободного общения на изучаемом языке, привлекают максимальное количество участников, создают благоприятные условия для творчества, улучшают взаимопонимание между учителем и учениками и позволяют в неофициальной обстановке еще раз закрепить знания, полученные на уроках.
