Тема урока
«Животные Австралии.
Театр Дурова в Москве»
Цель урока: закрепление полученных лексических и грамматических навыков по теме «Животные», отработка умений и навыков по их применению.
Задачи:
Образовательная задача: закрепить пройденный грамматический материал, а именно, употребление оборота have got, модального глагола can, продолжать формировать у учащихся навыки общения в рамках речевой ситуации «Животные».
Развивающая задача: развивать умение чтения с целью извлечения подробной информации и быстрого поиска заданной информации; развивать у учащихся навыки монологической и диалогической речи, умение систематизировать полученные знания по данной теме.
Воспитательная задача: воспитывать у учащихся интерес к английскому языку, уважение к культуре и традициям страны изучаемого языка, воспитывать умение работать в коллективе и слушать друг друга.

ХОД УРОКА
I. Приветствие, сообщение темы урока.Good morning, dear guests. Hello, boys and girls. Nice to meet you. Sit down.
Today we're going to travel around the world. We'll meet interesting animals and learn what they can do.
II. Основная часть.
Фонетическая и лексическая зарядка
But first let's review some words. (slide 1)
[ɔ:] crawl, seahorse, walk, talk, tortoise, small, short;
[ŋ] sing, swing, long;
[aı] eye, spider, climb.
What animals do you know? What can spiders (fish, birds, tortoises) do? Well done. Now let's recite the poem. First repeat after me, and then say it on your own. (SB p.78 ex.1) (DVD-video к учебнику «Spotlight 3») Good for you.

Изучающее чтениеNow look at the screen (slide 2). Tell me in what countries people speak English. /In Great Britain, the USA/ But now we learn one more country. It is an unusual country. It is often called “Down Under”, that means “страна, где все ходят вниз головой”. Look at the map. What country is it? /Australia. / Unusual interesting animals live there. Today we'll read about one of them. Look, it's an emu (slide 3). But first let's review the parts of the body. Open your books at p.85, do task 1. Let’s check.
What is number 1(2, 3, 4)? /1c – head, 2b – neck, 3a – body, 4d - leg/
Now read the text in ex.2 and answer the questions. (Pupils read the text to themselves.) Answer the questions:
Where are emus from? /They’re from Australia. /
What colour is an emu’s body and legs? /An emu’s body and legs are brown. /
Can emus fly? /No, they can’t. /
What colour are their eggs? /Their eggs are green. /

But you can see a lot of other animals in Australia. Let’s guess their names. Work in groups. I’ll give you a picture of an animal; you should describe it and say what it can do. The other groups guess its name. (Class is divided into 3 groups; each group has a picture of an animal. In groups the pupils discuss the description and choose one pupil to present it.) /The animals are a parrot, a kangaroo, a koala (slides 4, 5, 6)/.
Физкультурная минутка
Let’s sing “The Animal Song”. Stand up, sing and do.
Поисковое чтение. Говорение.
We jumped like a kangaroo, flied like a pelican and now we’re in the other country. What country is it? /Russia. / (slide 7). We’re in Moscow and this is an unusual theatre. It is “Grandpa Durov’s Wonderland”. (slide 8) Now open your books at p. 146, read the text and say why it is unusual. (Pupils read the text to themselves.) /The actors there are not people, but animals. /
You’re right and I want you to meet some actors. Look at the pictures and say what the animals can do. (slide 9 Hippo Mukha, slides 10-12 Tiger Masiania, slides 13-14 Bear Petrovich, slides 15-16 Chimp Toma, slide 17 elephants.)
