A Recitation Contest for the pupils of the 4-9 forms February ,2015 My dog JackI have a dog,His name is Jack,His coat is whiteWith spots of black.I take him outEvery day,Such fun we have,We run and play.Such clever tricksMy dog can do,I love my dog,He loves me, too ShoppingA bear and a bunnyHad plenty of moneyThey went to the store For carrots and honey When the bear and the bunny asked : “ carrots and honey!” The man in the store Cried :” Where is your money?”How strange and how funny! They really had money-And that’s how they bought Their carrots and honey! Mice.I think mice are very nice, Their tails are long,  Their faces are small, They haven't any chins at all. Their ears are pink, their teeth are white,  They run about the house at night They eat things they must not touch. And no one seems to like them much. And so at dinner he begins “Papa, you think you see There are two chickens on that dish, But  now I’ll prove that there are three: First, this is one and that is two, I want to be an actor I want to be an actor, Dad. I want to go on stage. You should be a banker, Tom, and earn a decent wage. I want to be a barber, Dad. I want to do people’s hair. You should be a pilot Tom, and work for British Air.  I want to be a clown, Dad. I think I am very funny. You should be a driver, Tom, and earn a lot of money. I want to be a barman, Dad, so I can drink a lot of beer! A barman! You are joking, Tom. That isn’t a career!  My Promise Each day I'll do my bestAnd I won't do any less.My work will always please me, And I won't accept a mess. I'll colour very carefully My writing will be neat. And I simply won't be happy 'Til my papers are complete I cannot ease your aching heartI cannot ease your aching heart,Nor take your pain away,But let me stay and take your handAnd walk with you today!I'll listen when you need to talk;I'll wipe away your tearsI'll share your worries when they come;I'll help you face your fears.I'm here and I will stand by you,Each hill you have to climb,So take my hand, let's face the world;Live one day at a time! Dragon- fly and Ant   A flying fidget Dragon-flyIn the summer's gaily singing,Of the future isn't thinking,But the winter's nearby.Field was green, it's now reddish,Happy days already vanished,And it happens no more,That a leaf gives roof and store.All has gone. In cold wintersWant and hunger wait afore.Dragon-fly sings no more:Who would like to sing yet more,If the hungry belly hinders.
