План – конспект урока английского языка в 6 классе по теме «Знатоки Великобритании»
Форма проведения: урок-викторина, соревнование между двумя командами
Цель: обобщить и систематизировать изученный материал по теме «Великобритания»
Задачи:
Образовательная: закрепить изученный материал по теме «Великобритания»; совершенствовать лексико-грамматические навыки обучающихся;
Развивающая: развивать коммуникативные навыки обучающихся, навыки работы в команде, память, внимание, логическое мышление, умение анализировать и синтезировать.
Воспитательная: расширить кругозор обучающихся по страноведческому материалу Великобритании, повысить интерес к изучению английского языка.
Оборудование: компьютер, видеопроектор, раздаточный материал, карточки с заданиями
Ход урока
Организационный момент. Good morning dear boys, girls and our guests! I’m very glad to see you! Sit down. please, children! So as you see dear children today we have our guest so I hope that you will be attentive, active and disciplined!
Ознакомление с темой урока, постановка задач. Today we will have an unusual lesson. As you see we have divided into two teams. So I think you guess what we are going to do today in our English lesson. It will be some kind of quiz. What is the Russian for “quiz”? That’s right it is «викторина». It will be quiz about what country do you think? Yes, right, it is the UK. We will work in two teams and you should manage with … tasks. And, of course, we need anyone to check and write your results during the game and there are our jury: __________________________________________________________________
Проведение викторины.
Знакомство с командами, капитаны представляют свои команды. The first task for you is to find out the names of your teams. I’ll give you the cards with alphabet and names of your teams, they are written by numbers, you should write the letters and then you see the names of your teams! It is your first task. So now we know the names of our teams and can start our game! I wish good luck for each team! Let’s start!
The 2nd task. Now let’s remember the poem “So many countries”. Look at the screen, listen and repeat after me. The next task to read this poem. Each team should read this poem together with all members of the team and then jury will listen and choose who read it better.
The 3rd task. I will answer you some questions about Great Britain and you should answer only when I will ask your team, when I will ask another team you have to be silent. Let’s start. And remember, please, you should give full answers.
What is the official name of the whole country? ( The official name of the country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
How many parts does the UK consist of? Name them. (The UK consists of four parts They are Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland.)
Where is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland situated? (It is situated on the British Isles.)
How many islands does the British Isles consist of? (The UK consists of more than 5000 islands of different sizes.).
What is the largest island of the country?( GB is the largest island)
What is the official language of the whole country? (English is the official language of the country).
What seas and oceans is the UK washed by? (The UK is washed by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea and the Irish Sea. The English channel separates Great Britain from the continent.)
What is the climate of the UK like? (The climate of GB is rather cool and changeable and it often rains).
The 4th task is “Make a Sentence”. Командам даются карточки со словами. Нужно составить из данных слов предложения.

The 5th task is «Captains’ Contest»
Now let’s remember the symbols of Great Britain. What symbols has any country? Yes, right, there are flag, the emblem of the country and the anthem. Previously at our English lessons we also learnt the information about floral symbols of the UK. Now let’s remember them. Now, I want captains of both teams come to me. So here you see 4 cards you should choose two of them. OK, now listen to the task: you have chosen the cards with names of the parts of Great Britain, I give you pictures of the flowers, their names, and flags. The task is to match them with each other. Then captain will tell us about your countries and show it on the map.
