TRAVELLING AROUND LONDON 17The London Eye If you want to see London, the best place to go is the Eye. The Eye is a big wheel on the River Thames. The Eye is very tall – 133 metres. At the top of the Eye you get a great view of London.

TRAVELLING AROUND LONDON 18The Tower of London… …is London’s oldest castle. It’s nine hundred years old. The Tower of London was a palace, but it was also a prison. Beefeaters don’t eat beef! They protect the Tower. The name “Beefeater” comes from when the Queen gave them meat, not money, as their pay.
