Culture Corner 6 d Landmarks. Big Ben.
Spotlight, 5 класс, модуль 6, урок четвертый.
Тип урока: урок применения предметных ЗУНов
Цель урока: развитие коммуникативной компетенции в области монологического высказывания
Задачи: 1) введение новой лексики,
2) развитие умений использовать изученную лексику,
3) развивать грамматические умения использовать Present Simple (вопросительная и утвердительная форма),
4) отработать навыки прогнозирования содержания текста и смыслового чтения,
5) воспитывать самостоятельность, активность, познавательную мотивацию,
6) формировать общекультурную и этническую идентичность.
Оборудование: ноутбук, доска, фотографии главных достопримечательностей, раздаточный материал.
I. Целеполагание, мотивация.
Teacher: Good morning. How are you?
Pupils: I`m fine, thanks, and you?
Teacher: I`m fine, I`m glad to see you.
Pupils: I`m glad to see you too.
Teacher: Open your textbooks, page 81, please. What is the topic of our lesson?
На доске: Landmark – достопримечательность, ориентир, веха.
Commissioner of works – руководитель работ.
Pupils: Big Ben. Landmarks. Tourist attractions.
Teacher: Would you like to visit London, Big Ben?
Pupils: Yes, I would.
Teacher: Is it important to learn about Big Ben? Why?
Pupils: Yes, it is. We can speak English about Big Ben, tell our parents about it, ask to visit it.
Teacher: Can you speak about Big Ben now?
Pupils: No, I can`t.
Teacher: What will be our aim (objectives) for today?
Pupils: Speak about Big Ben.

II. Развитие умений прогнозирования текста.
Teacher: Look at the first picture and listen to the sounds. Do you know this building?
Pupils: Yes, I do. It is Big Ben.
Teacher: Which city is it in?
Pupils: It is in London.
Teacher: Ex. 1 p. 81. Read the first paragraph and check. You are right.

III.Развитие навыков распознавания и употребления в речи вопросительных предложений в Present Simple.
Teacher: Ex. 2 p. 81. Think of 3 questions about Big Ben.
Записываю вопросы на доске. (После чтения текста отвечаем на них.)
Pupils: How heavy is Big Ben? (It weighs 14 tons.)
How tall is it? (It`s 98 metres high.)
Where does Big Ben come from? (It comes from Sir Benjamin Hall, the bell`s commissioner of works.)
How long is the long hand? (It`s 4 metres long.)
How long is the short hand? (It`s 3 metres long.)
How big is the clock face? (It`s 7 metres wide.)

IV.Развитие умений поискового чтения.
Teacher: Ex. 3 p. 81. (Раздаточный материал. Вписывают ответы в листы из текста. На доске ответы завешены листом бумаги. Через 2-3 минуты убираю лист, ученики проверяют ответы и исправляют если надо.)

V.Развитие умений монологической речи.
Teacher: Imagine you are a tour guide. Tell a group of tourists about Big Ben.
(При подготовке короткого рассказа о Биг Бене учащиеся просматривают текст, отмечая ключевую информацию. Слушаем одного ученика. Одноклассники оценивают: very well, ok, not very well.)
VI.Assessment. Организация самоконтроля и рефлексии учебных достижений.
Раздаю карточки самооценки, которые выглядят так:

VII. Домашнее задание на выбор:
1Используя интернет, найти информацию о знаменитой достопримечательности (башне) России (Спасская башня в Кремле, Вологодская колокольня) и написать короткий текст по образцу текста о Биг Бене.
2(Задание проще) ТПО стр. 50 выполнить 1 (вставить слова по смыслу, данные до письма) и 2 упражнения (расположить слова в правильном порядке).
