London is the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland It is one of the biggest cities in the world. There are many places of interest in the city: Trafalgar Square *The Houses of Parliament *The Tower *Tower Bridge *St. Paul’s Cathedral *Buckingham Palace *Westminster Abbey *Big Ben We start from Trafalgar Square. On the column in the centre there is a statue of Admiral Nelson. You can see the Houses of Parliament. They are long grey buildings with towers. It is the seat of the British Government. It is not a tower. It is a name of the Bell. You can hear the sound of “Big Ben” every hour in London . It was a fortress, a palace, a prison and the King is Zoo. Now it is a museum. You can see a lot of interesting things in the halls of this building. St. Paul’s Cathedral is the second famous church in London. The architect is Sir Christopher Wren. It is so big! Londoners treasure it because many famous people are buried there. Now we are at palace. Buckingham Palace is the residence of the British monarchs. It is wonderful! Best British designers decorated it. Westminster Abbey is magnificent. It is church near the Houses of parliament. British monarchs are crowned there. Ladies and gentlemen!
