Theme: Consumer Society. Topic: Money. Having a lot of money makes you free? Is he happy who has a lot of money? For many years people argue about money and it’s role in our life. We did a survey and interviewed the teachers of our school. We asked them “What is money?”The problem of earning and spending money is important for young people too. It so easy to waste or blow money, but it’s so hard to earn money. And so, we asked the students in Classes 9, 10,11 of our school two questions/ The first one – where they get money? The second – what they need money for? Look through the following table. As it turned out a large proportion of the students receive their pocket money from their parents (96%). More then half of them take money from their relatives. And one more source of getting money – saving birthday money. As you can see 50% work during their holidays. And here are only a few students who have a job. This table illustrates that almost all students fully depend on their parents. May be because of the lack of time and there are not chances for young people to find a job. The ways to get money And here is a table with the information about the most popular ways to spend money. So, as you can see a large number of students spend their pocket money on eating out. A significant number of students spend money on entertainments ,such as: cinema, bowling, going out. They blow their money in the night clubs or playing pull. Surprisingly, but a lot of money is spend on perfume and shopping.27% of the students buy books ,CDs and of course we spend our money on our mobiles, chewing gums, taxi. Among other interests are beer, cigarettes, girl friends. And so, we can make a conclusion that the students spend too much money on eating out, entertainments, shopping.
