The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is situated on the British Isles. It consists of four parts: England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. England, Wales , Scotland and Northern Ireland occupy the territory of Great Britain. The territory of the United Kingdom is about 24,000 square kilometers. It is the 75th place among other countries in the world. The population is over 96,5 million. The capital of the country is London. The surface of Great Britain varies greatly. If she saw a sparrow, she would marry a poor man and be very happy. If she saw a goldfinch, she would marry a rich person.
