Snowflakes - Снежинки
by Linda A. CoppSnowflakes spill from heaven's handLovely and chaste like smooth white sand.A veil of wonder laced in lightFalling Gently on a winters night.
Graceful beauty raining downGiving magic to the lifeless ground. Each snowflake like a falling starSmiling beauty that's spun afar.Till earth is dressed in a robe of whiteUnspoken poem the hush of night.
Sleigh-Bells - Колокольчики на салазках
by Evaleen Stein
Tinkle, tinkle, tinkle! Happy winter-time!Baby's eyes a-twinkle, hear the sleigh-bells chime! Each one rings a merry ting-a-ling-a-ling!For a sleigh-bell fairy hides inside to sing.See them quake and quiver, up and downward tossed,Seems as if they shiver in the nipping frost!Shiver into laughter, jolly little elves!Till we laugh thereafter, merry as themselves!
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Eveningby Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping hereTo watch his woods fill up with snow.My little horse must think it queerTo stop without a farmhouse nearBetween the woods and frozen lakeThe darkest evening of the year.He gives his harness bells a shakeTo ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweepOf easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep,And miles to go before I sleep,And miles to go before I sleep.
Winter
by Dorothy AldisThe street cars are like frosted cakes --All covered up with cold snowflakes.
The horses' hoofs scrunch on the street;Their eyelashes are white with sleet.
And everywhere the people go --With faces tickled by the snow.

New Years Are a Chance for a Beginning
New years are a chance for a beginningEven when there hasn't been an end.Wheels turn in an interminable bend,Yet, marked in one spot, seem to wobble spinning. Each year we hope to do a little betterAlthough we know that really nothing's changed.Reason thinks that everything's arranged,So we must dream if we would fate unfetter.        by William Byrd From home to home, And heart to heart, From one place to anotherThe warmth and joy of Christmas,Brings us closer to each other.         By Emily Matthews
Christmas Bells
I heard the bells on Christmas DayTheir old, familiar carols play,And wild and sweetThe words repeatOf peace on earth, good-will to men!And thought how, as the day had come,The belfries of all ChristendomHad rolled alongThe unbroken songOf peace on earth, good-will to men!Till, ringing, singing on its wayThe world revolved from night to day,A voice, a chime,A chant sublimeOf peace on earth, good-will to men! Then from each black, accursed mouthThe cannon thundered in the South,And with the soundThe Carols drownedOf peace on earth, good-will to men!And in despair I bowed my head;"There is no peace on earth," I said;"For hate is strong,And mocks the songOf peace on earth, good-will to men!"Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:"God is not dead; nor doth he sleep! The Wrong shall fail,The Right prevail,With peace on earth, good-will to men!"         by Longfellow Henry Wadsworth
Christmas CarolThe Christ-child lay on Mary's lap,His hair was like a light.(O weary, weary were the world,But here is all aright.)The Christ-child lay on Mary's breastHis hair was like a star.(O stern and cunning are the kings,But here the true hearts are.) The Christ-child lay on Mary's heart,His hair was like a fire.(O weary, weary is the world,But here the world's desire.)The Christ-child stood on Mary's knee,His hair was like a crown,And all the flowers looked up at Him,And all the stars looked down        by G.K.Chesterton
