Цели и задачи урока:
1. Практиковать учащихся в монологической и диалогической речи.
2. Обобщение и повторение пройденного материала: лексического, грамматического и тематического.
3. Развитие творческих способностей учащихся.
4. Развитие навыков аудирования по указанным темам.
5.Развитие навыков работы учащихся по составлению электронных презентаций.
6.Развитие навыков работы учащихся с программой MIMIO-STUDIO.
7.Контроль знаний учащихся по указанным темам.
Оборудование:
1.Документ-камера.
2.Интерактивная доска.
3.Диск с текстами для аудирования по указанным темам.
4.Географические карты США, Канады и Великобритании.
5. Тест, составленный по программе MIMIO-STUDIO, по указанным темам.
Социокультурная информация: достопримечательности США, Канады и Великобритании.
ХОД УРОКА:
1.Приветствие и организационный момент начала урока:
Teacher:
- Good morning to everybody! I am glad to see you. Are you ready for the lesson? The theme of our lesson is “The USA, Canada and The UK”. At the beginning of our lesson we’ll listen to three short texts: “ Why do we usually confuse its name?” about the UK, “The geographical position of the USA” and “The population and languages of Canada”. After that we’ll watch two
Each team gets one point for every correct answer. If the answer is wrong, you get no points. The team which answers the most questions wins. Each team takes turns in answering questions.
2. And now we come to the first round of the game called “The USA”. Listen and answer the questions:
1. What is America’s symbol of Freedom? / The Statue of Liberty/
2. A gift from what country was the Statue of Liberty? / From France/
3. What university is the oldest in the USA? / Harvard, 1636/
4. What was Mark Twain’s real name? / Samuel Clemens/

3.And now we come to the second round of the game called “The UK”.
Each team takes turns in answering questions.
“Sailors”, it’s your turn to answer:

3. What animal has been used as a symbol of national purity? /The unicorn/
4. Who is the patron saint of England? / The 1st George/
5. What is the national emblem of England? /A red rose/
6. Describe the typical evening British meal. /A meat dish with vegetable and
dessert/
7. What was William Shakespeare? /The greatest writer and playwright/ 3.
8. When and where was he born? /In 1564 in Stratford – on – Avon/
9. What was Arthur Conan Doyle? /A doctor/
10. What is the name of his famous character? /Sherlock Holmes/
“Red Rose”, it’s your turn to answer.
1. What is the capital of the Northern Ireland? / Belfast/
2. What animal has been used as a symbol of national strength? /The lion/
3. How many crosses is the flag of the UK made up of? /Of three crosses/
4. Who is the patron saint of Ireland? /St. Patrick/
5. What is the national emblem of Ireland? /A shamrock/
6. What is the traditional Sunday British dish? /Roast beef/
7. How many plays did W. Shakespeare write? / 37 plays/
8. What was he fond of? /of actor’s profession/
9. What does Oscar Wilde show in his works? /The contrast between wealth and
poverty/
10. When and where was he born? /In 1854 in Dublin/
4. We come to the third round of the game called “Guess the Word”.
Each team takes turns in guessing the word.
The word for the first team:
1.It is a fruit. It may be sweet or sour. It may be black, red or white. The word
consists of 6 letters. /Grapes/

consists of 5 letters. /Apple/
5.We come to the fourth round of the game called “A Dark Horse”.
Each team must make the advertisement of an English city or town.
The task for the first team:
1.Make the advertisement of London.
The task for the second team:
1. Make the advertisement of Stratford-on-Avon.
(Команды под музыку рисуют на листах ватмана рекламные проспекты и затем защищают их).
6.Заключительный этап игры. Подведение итогов.
Teacher:
- Let’s add up the score of the game. The score is … to… in … favor. The team …
is the winner.
