Цели:
образовательные: ознакомление с историей возникновения денежных единиц Великобритании, с пословицами по теме, совершенствования навыков устной речи, поискового чтения;
развивающие: развитие логики, критического мышления, смысловой догадки, внимания;
воспитательные: воспитание уважительного отношения к истории и реалиям страны изучаемого языка.
Оборудование: аудиозапись “Money, Money” ABBA, проектор, ноутбук, презентация «British money», учебник Spotlight 8, карточки с английскими пословицами, смайлики.
Ход урока:
Организационный момент.
Good afternoon, kids. Take your seats. Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who’s absent today? What is the weather forecast for today?

a) What will we be doing at our lesson? Listen to the song and guess the theme of the lesson. аудиозапись
b) Today we speak about money, to be more exact, about the national currency of Great Britain. What associations do you have when you hear the word “money”?

c) Money plays an important role in human life and people have reflected it in different proverbs.
деление по группам: Find your pair connecting the two parts of the proverb. Read it aloud and let another group translate your saying.

Watch the presentation about British money and answer the questions.
