The Family Talk
The Roles: Dad, Mom, Son, Mouse, Cat.
The costumes: an apron, tights for men, slippers, glasses, a mark book, a newspaper, black and grey ears and tails (for Cat and Mouse).
Action: Son is sitting on the chair, his school bag is near him. He is very sad and tired.
Son: The more we study, the more we knowThe more we know, the more we forgetThe more we forget, the less we knowthe less we know, the less we forgetThe less we forget, the more we knowWhy study?
Dad is going through the stage, he is reading the newspaper.
Dad: My dear son! How are you?
Son: Fine, thanks. Dad, can you write in the dark?
Dad: I think so. What do you want me to write?
Son: Your name on this report card.
Mom is coming out to the stage.
Mom: What’s happening here? Son: Oh, Mom, what we are going to have for breakfast? Mom - Oatmeal, my dear! Son - And for dinner? Mom - Oatmeal, darling! Dad - And for supper? Mom - Cutlets, honey. Dad, Son - Yes!!! Mom - I’m going to make them from the oatmeal!!!
Mom is going to the backstage.
Son -Dad, say : thooz.Dad- What for?Son - Say, please.Dad - What does it mean, I wonder?Son - It doesn’t matter just say : thooz!Dad - I’m not going to repeat strange words that I don’t know!Son - Don’t make me learn English then!
Son is running away from Dad.
Mouse appears on the stage.
Mouse - Hello! Do you know me? I am a little mouse. I am afraid of cats. Where is the cat? Where can I hide?
Mouse hides at the backstage.
Cat - Hi! I am a cat. I would like to eat a mouse. Where is she? Uh! Pi-pi-pi!
Mouse is jumping out the backstage.
Mouse - Oh, it’s my friend!Cat - (catching Mouse) - You see, how nice to know foreign languages!
