Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night
Цели:
расширить кругозор учащихся, способствовать развитию их познавательной активности в области получения страноведческого материала;
научить пользоваться определенными речевыми моделями;
побудить у учащихся стремление изучать иностранный язык как реальное средство общения;
активизация лексико- грамматических навыков
создание предпосылок и моделирование условий, в которых учащийся смог бы проявить себя как человек, имеющий свою точку зрения и умеющий ее отстаивать.
Задачи (развивающие):
приобщение учащихся к культуре, традициям и реалиям страны изучаемого языка;
развитие и воспитание понимания у учащихся важности изучения иностранного языка в современном мире и потребности пользоваться им как средством общения;
развитие национального самосознания, стремление к взаимопониманию между людьми разных стран, обществ, толерантного отношения к проявлению иной культуры;
развивать умение начинать, поддерживать и заканчивать разговор, поздравлять, выражать пожелания и реагировать на них;
развивать коммуникативные умения в аудировании, диалогической и монологической речи.

активизировать употребление учащимися тематической лексики и ознакомление учащихся с новой лексикой; отработать лексику в речи;


Ход урока
Организационный этап
1.Приветствие .
Teacher : Good morning, boys and girls! Glad to see you today!Today we are going to learn many interesting facts about British Festival. Let’s begin right now!
2 .Речевая зарядка
Teacher: There are many different holidays and festivals. What festivals of English speaking countries do you know?
Pupils : Easter,Halloween
Teacher. It is true. But November is a special month. It is full of different holidays and festivals: Thanksgiving Day in the USA, the National Day of Scotland on the 30-th of November and Bonfire Night on November 5th.
3.Фонетическая зарядка.
Детям раздаются карточки со стихами и новыми словами.
Here are the phonetic cards. Now we will read a traditional poem of this holiday and learn some new world.

Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

Traditionally, the children repeat them, skirting around the fire, which burned an effigy.

Rumour, rumour, pump and derry,
Prick his heart and burn his body,
And send his soul to Purgatory.

Guy – парень, молодой человек. Это слово пошло от имени Guy Fawkes: изначально так называли чучело Фокса, затем – чучело в принципе, после этого – плохо одетого человека, а теперь слово приобрело современное значение.
Bonfire – костер.
Fireworks display – салют.
Banger – петарда, шутиха, фейерверк, который производит громкий звук при запуске.
Sparkler – бенгальский огонь.
To blow up- взорвать
Gunpowder-порох
To catch- ловить
Plotters- заговорщики

This holiday is known in Britain as Bonfire N______. It’s one of the most cherished holidays in the country. Each year it’s celebrated with massive fireworks and bonfires. According to a calendar, the _____ falls on the 5th of November and commemorates the failure of Gunpowder Plot. Some historic facts prove that this evil project was led by a person named ______ Fawkes in 1605. He was a member of a Catholic group that tried to set some explosives beneath the Houses of Parliament while the king was in the building.
The ______ were caught and convicted in high treason. The tradition to light _____ on this day has a different background, but is well connected with the idea of the holiday. As it’s almost the end of autumn ______ find it necessary to burn all their garden rubbish. In larger cities the authorities ___ collective bonfires in a communal space. There are also professional fireworks at park zones. In some regions keep the tradition of dressing up into spooky thematic outfits. Children’s favorite part during Gay Fawkes Night is the tasty food sold in streets. For example baked potatoes, homemade toffee apples, sausage rolls, popcorn etc. However, not everyone favors this legendary holiday and certainly it’s not a public holiday. All schools and public organizations are open as usual. Transport works according to its habitual timetable. There were many cases of injuries, connected with fireworks. That’s why many people are against loud celebration.
