            «City .Travelling to London»

 Цель:  обобщить и расширить представление студентов о величайших  достопримечательностях  Лондона средствами  английского языка.Задачи: Образовательные:
1.      Формировать навыки устной речи на основе информации о Лондоне. 
2.      Активизировать лексические навыки по данной тематике.
3.      Практиковать в чтении с целью извлечения  информации из текста  и практиковать в детальном чтении.
Развивающие: Развивать языковую догадку на основе незнакомых слов.
Воспитательные: Формировать познавательный  интерес к  стране изучаемого языка.
Формы работы: фронтальная, в парах, групповая, индивидуальная.Оснащение:  компьютер, экран, презентации по теме «Достопримечательности Лондона»                                              Ход урока.I. Организационный момент.
Приветствие учителя.  T-Good morning students! Nice to meet you! How are you?
S-Fine, thanks. And you?T-I’m fine too.
T-What date is it today ?
S-It’s -----today.
T- What day of the week today ?
S-It’s -----today.
T-Who is absent today?
S-All are present today.
2)Беседа о погоде.
T-What’s the weather like today? I’d like you to talk about today’s weather.
S1: What season is it now?
S2: It’s Autumn now.Autumn is a season famous for its harvest times, turning leaves, cooling temperatures and darkening nights.
S1: Do you like Autumn?
S2: Yes, I do. It’s not very hot in Autumn as in summer. I don’t like when it’s hot.
S1: How is it outside?
S2: It’s cool today. The temperature is 10 degrees above zero.
T-Thank you ,take your seats.

London is the capital of Great Britain . London is not only the capital of the country ,it’s also a huge port. It’s one of the largest cities in the world. Its population is more than 9 million people. London is situated on the both banks of the river Thames . There are many museums ,libraries, and galleries in London
S2: The Houses of Parliament is the most famous building inGreat Britain.
The building is 280 metres long.
There are more than 1000 rooms.The country’s leaders speak in the Houses of Parliament.
S3: This is the Queen’s home.
The official London residence of the Queen is Buckingham Palace. It was built in the 18th century. It was built in 1703. There is a great collection of paintings here. When the Queen is at the residence the flag is flying on top of Buckingham Palace.
 S4: The other interesting place is Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey is very beautiful church, which is more than 900 years old. All English kings have been crowned and buried in the church since 1308. Many famous people of this country were buried in the Abbey.
S5: The most famous bridge in London is a Tower bridge. The bridge, was designed by city architect Horace Jones . Inside the bridge is the Tower bridge Exhibition.
Tower Bridge is one of five London bridges .
S6: Trafalgar Square is in the centre of the West End. Every winter there is a big Christmas tree in the middle of the square. On New Year’s Eve people gather around the tree. In the centre of the square there is a statue of Admiral Nelson who had to fight the French at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

S2: Big Ben” is the world-known clock. It is in the Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament. Big Ben is the symbol of London.
Everyday about 500 tourists come to London to see the Big Ben. Built in 1858, it was named after an architect whose name was Ben (Benjamin). The interesting fact is that you are not allowed to get inside the Big Ben if you aren’t an Englishman.
S3London eye .
It is one of the biggest observation wheel in the world. Its height is 135 meters. It has 32 cabins . It takes 30 minutes to make a full circle. But it is the view you will never forget.
S4: St.Pauls Cathedral is afamous building too. It is the work of the famous architect Sir Christopher Wren. For 35 years the building of St. Paul’s Cathedral went on, and Wren was an old man before it was finished. Prince Charles and Prin’cess Diana married here in 1981.
S5: I’d like to tell you about Tower
It is one of the most ancient buildings of London. It was founded in the 11th century . The Tower of London has been a fortress, a palace, an arsenal,a prison and now it’s a museum.
 
S6: Hyde Park
London is full of wonderful parks and Hyde Park is one of them. It’s in the center of London. It has a finest landscape and is often used for political meetings or celebrations. People can play in Hyde Park. Queen Victoria chose Hyde Park for holding the first World Exhibition in 1851.
