“WHAT HELPS YOU TO ENJOY YOURSELF?”
Цели и задачи:
Учебный аспект: развитие речевого умения;
Сопутствующая задача: скрытый контроль уровня развития речевого умения;
Воспитательный аспект: воспитание потребности к творчеству, уважительного отношения к чужой культуре, более глубокое осознание своей культуры;
Речевой материал: лексика и грамматика предыдущих уроков.
Оборудование: интерактивная доска, слайды, презентации, фильмы, ТСО, раздаточный материал по теме.

T: Nice to meet you. Today we are going to discuss: What helps you to enjoy yourself? How do you spend your free time? We’re going to remember about
“Cinema” and “TV”, one of the wonders of the modern world.
We’ll remember vocabulary connected with this topic. We’ll discuss the genres of films.
We’ll get to know some new information about cinema.
We’ll listen to extracts from different TV programmes and we’ll read the text about rating system of films in the USA.
And of course, we’ll check up your homework – your films and presentations about cinema.

T: Ask your partner how he likes spending his free time. Ask if he likes watching films. Ask about preferences in films. What does your partner feel when he is watching films. How often does he watch TV? Can he live without television?

They are: Mosfilm, Lenfilm, Sverdlovskaya, Company Amedia, Magnum, Rakurs (for children), Studio ATV, TRITA (N. Mikhalkov), Soyuzmultfilm, Yaltafilm, Odesskaya, Bashkortostan.
6. The professions in film making.
T: Cinema combines different arts. That’s why people of different professions are involved in film making. Who are these people? (What do they do?) (T → Cl)

A camera operator is a man who looks through the camera, and operates the equipment.
An actor is a man/woman who pretends to be another person and acts in a film.
An electrician is a man/woman who fixes the lights and all other electrical equipment.
A costume designer is a man/woman who prepares costumes: dresses, suits for films.
A make-up artist is a man/woman who can make a new face for an actor.
A sound mixer is a man/woman who operates the microphones and gets very angry with people who makes noises during the filming.
A director is a man/woman who is the boss and tells everybody what to do.
A stuntman/-woman is a person who does all dangerous things on the screen instead of actors.
An editor is a man/woman who chooses the best bits of the shooting film, cuts film and puts the bits together.
A producer is a man/woman who has general control of the money for a film but he/she doesn’t direct the actors.
A scriptwriter is a man/woman who whites scripts for films, shows.
7. The TV programmes
T: What kinds of TV programmes do you like? What do you know about TV programmes? Give the definition to the words:
A documentary is a programme ….(which might be about some historical facts or about the environment, or politics).
A chat show is a programme….( when people are interviewed about their careers and recent work).
A soap opera is a programme….(about different characters who live in the same area or work together. They usually have dramatic problems and the story continues for a long time).
A sitcom is a programme….(which is funny and usually lasts for half an hour or a bit more and has the same characters).
A game show is a programme….(in which members of the public play games or answer questions to try to win prizers).
A reality show is a programme….(in which members of the public are living togrhter and all viewers can watch their relationships and one of them leaves each other).

10. Reading Comprehension.
T: In the USA there is a special MPAA Rating System
(The Motion Picture Association of America) for films. It’s responsibility is classify films, label each film clearly so that cinema managers can control the audience for each picture.
You’ll read the text about it. You’ll meet some difficult words in the text. Now look at the Smart board.
A. Match the words with their definitions.
restricted - limited
indication – a sign that something will happen, is true, or exists
offensive – unpleasant
accumulation – a lot
nudity – without clothes
sensuality – physical or sexual pleasure
brutal – very cruel
respectful – treating someone with respect
B. Read the text and fill in the table.

G. General Audience; all ages admitted
This is a film which contains nothing in theme, language, nudity and sex, or violence which would be offensive to parents whose younger children view the film.
Some bits of language may go beyond polite conversation but are common everyday expressions. The violence is at a minimum. Nudity sex scenes are not present.
PG. Parental Guidance Suggested; some material may not be suitable for children
This is a film which needs to be examined by parents before they let their younger children attend. The label ‘PG’ means that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children. There may be unrespectful scenes or words in these films. There may be violence. There is no sex on the screen, although there may be some indication of sensuality. Brief nudity may appear in PG-rated films.
R. Restricted, children under 17 require accompanying parent
This is an adult film in some of its aspects.
The language may be rough, the violence may be hard and nudity and lovemaking may be present.
NC - 17. No one under 17 admitted
This is an adult film and no children are allowed to watch it. The reason for not allowed children to such films can relate to the accumulation of brutal (very cruel) or sexually connected language or sex and too much violence.
