Royal parks of London There are 8 Royal Parks in London: Hyde Park, St.James’s Park, Kensington Gardens, the Green Park, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park, the Regent’s Park and Bushy Park. Millions of Londoners and tourists visit Royal parks for free each year. Hyde Park Hyde Park is one of London’s finest landscapes and covers 350 acres. Over 7 million people visit it every year. There’s something for everyone from swimming and boating to concerts and exhibitions. Kensington Gardens Kensington Gardens boasts riches of elegant avenues and architecture. The Albert Memorial commemorates the death of Prince Albert in 1861. You can visit here the Italian Gardens, which is a 150-year-old old ornamental water garden and take The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. St.James`s Park St.James’s Park is the oldest Royal Park in London. It is surrounded by three palaces. It provides fantastic routes for cyclists away from traffic. Picnics in the park are a popular activity especially during the busy summer months. Richmond Park Richmond Park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve. Richmond Park, originally a deer-hunting park, still has 300 Red Deer and 350 fallow deer. The deer in the park are wild animals. Green Park The Green Park is a peaceful park surrounded by Constitution Hill, Piccadilly and the Broad Walk. Green Park is particularly popular for sunbathing and picnics. It is also popular as a healthy walking route. The paths are used extensively by joggers and runners. Bushy Park Greenwich Park Greenwich Park serves as a habitat for deer, foxes and birds.
