Dramatization«Dramatization is present in our everyday life. It’s our existance. It’s really very simple and natural. A teacher doesn’t need any special skills – he just needs to be himself.»Meyley and Daff «Drama Techniques in Language Learning» (CUP (2nd Edition), 1982, page 32)
Stages1. I tell my children about the author of the play or the book.2. I introduce and activate new lexical structures, make sure my children pronounce them correctly.3. We listen to the recording once, I check understanding.4. We distribute the parts among the children according to their artistic skills and the level of English knowledge.5. I work individually with each child and check the intonation and the authenticity of every phrase.
6. We learn the movements for the dancing group.7. I arrange the group work and we do rehearsals(including special sound effects, dancing and singing).8. We prepare costumes, decorations and prepare the stage.9. We do the final rehearsal.10. We show our play to children of other classes, the teachers and the parents.
