6 “G” form В ходе изучения темы «Лондон» мы познакомились со столицей Великобритании, её достопримечательностями. Конечно, разговаривая о видах Лондона, нельзя обойтись без иллюстраций, фотографий. Нам было предложено изучить информацию о городе, представить, что мы являемся жителями столицы Соединенного Королевства и рассказать о самых красивых уголках города, в котором, к сожалению, мы никогда не были. Но очень хотели бы побывать. Нам нравится фантазировать и мы с легкостью придумали себе персонажей, от лица которых могли бы рассказать о своей жизни в Лондоне. Мы представили себя фотохудожниками, которые фотографируют жизнь своего родного города. Welcome to London! Карта Лондона роро St. Paul’s Cathedral St. Paul’s Cathedral is the greatest work of England’s greatest architect, Christopher Wren. There are memorials to many famous men of England in the Cathedral. Tower Bridge It’s Britain’s best-known bridge. It was built in 1897. It’s the only bridge across the Thames which can be lifted. Tower of London It’s an ancient fortress in London. Now it’s a museum of armour and the place where Crown Jewels are kept. It’s also famous for the “Beefeaters” and ravens. The Houses of Parliament The Houses of Parliament is the place where members of Parliament gather to make laws. Big Ben Tourists in London always want to visit Westminster and see Big Ben. They want to see the clock in its tower and to hear the bells. Big Ben is really a bell. You hear it every hour. It is a big bell. It has a deep tone and you can hear it on the radio: “This is the BBC. The time is six o’clock.’’ And then you hear the deep boom of Big Ben six times. Trafalgar Square There are many nice squares in London. Trafalgar Square is one of them and it is in the centre of the West End. You can see a statue of Lord Nelson in the middle of this square. Westminster Abbey Westminster Abbey is a symbol of England. The legend says that Westminster Abbey was founded by St. Peter. The coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place in Westminster Abbey. Some famous English people are also buried here. Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace is the London home of the British Royal family. Outside Buckingham Palace we can watch a colorful ceremony of the Changing of the Guard. The London Eye It’s on the Thames. It’s the largest observation wheel in the world and it’s very popular with tourists. Piccadilly Circus Piccadilly Circus is a square in the central part of London. London’s best-known theatres and cinemas and most famous restaurants are on Piccadilly Circus. In the square you can see people of many nationalities and hear a lot of different languages. St. James’s Park St. James’s Park, the oldest London park, is very beautiful with its trees and flower beds and view of Buckingham Palace. The statue of the famous fairy-tale hero, Peter Pan, can be seen in Kensington Gardens. Hyde Park Hyde Park is famous for its outdoor entertainments and its Speaker’s Corner. I like to visit this park. Такое погружение в изучаемую тему помогло нам совершенствовать навыки использования иноязычной речи, усвоить страноведческий материал. Такой проект может стать также и методическим пособием в копилке учителя английского языка для изучения этой темы с другими классами.
