PAST CONTINUOUS
THE PAST CONTINUOUS AND PAST SIMPLE We often use the Past Continuous and the Past Simple together to say that something happened in the middle of else: I saw Irene in the park. She was sitting on the bench and waiting for somebody.
Ann broke her leg when she was skiing in Switzerland. Exercise 1. Mary (play) the piano, John (read), my wife (sew) when suddenly we all (hear) a shout.
