Aims: - to develop pupils’ learning about theme;
To enrich their grammatical knowledge;
To improve pupils’ skills: Listening, Reading and Writing
The procedure of the lesson:
I Organization moment Greeting. Checking absents. Asking some questions.
II Checking home task. III Warm-up activity. Answer the questions.
What do you know about whales?
Give short answers to these questions.
Example: Do you know the answer? –Yes, I do.
Do the whales live in the Oceans?
Are the whales strong animals?
Are they extinct?
Are they mammals?

b) Post-reading Read the text and do the tasks that follow it.
Comment on the following.
…and knowing how rapidly they were being destroyed I was afraid that I would never meet one of the lords of Ocean.
…then suddenly a heart stopping gigantic voice broke the foggy silence over our small ship.
Our small ship crawled … we were nearing the reefy shores.
…We understood that we should follow that “beacon” to be safe.
Questions:
Why was the author afraid that he would never meet one of the Lords of Ocean?
What happened to the two men after the furious winds?
What emotions did the gigantic voice raise in the author?
How did the whale help the people? Why do you think they trusted the whale?
What is your impression about the story?
What did the author feel about the whale and the Nature after that experience in the Sea?
What would have happened if the whale hadn’t helped the sailors?
Why are the whales being destroyed? What for?

Past Perfect Passive

Future Perfect Passive
By the time you return the office won’t have been cleaned yet. – К тому времени как ты придешь, офис еще не будет убран
Will everything have been prepared by 5 p.m.?  — Будет ли все приготовлено к 5 часам?
By the beginning of the court session all the documents will have been looked through – К моменту начала судебного заседания, все документы будут просмотрены

Bring up - 5. Come up - 1) появляться, возникать; и в перен. смысле тоже; 2) подниматься (вверх); 3) подходить, приближаться, приезжать; 4) выступать против и др.
