London is the capital of Great Britain. London was founded by the Romans in 43 A.D. and was called Londinium. The heart of London is the City - its commercial and business centre. Here is situated the Tower of London that comes first among the historical buildings of the city. St. Paul's Cathedral, the greatest of English churches, is situated not far from the Tower. London is one of the most famous capital cities of the world, and every year it attracts crowds of visitors from home and abroad. They come to explore its historical buildings, to see its museum and galleries, its streets and parks, its people. Big Ben is one of the famous buildings in London. Everybody, who has ever been in London, has seen this beautiful tower with the big clock.
