The first English settlement in the North America appeared in 1607 Gradually on the Atlantic coast there were 13 colonies with the population of 2.5 million people. The colonies were governed from England by the King George III. The governors of most of the colonies were appointed by The King himself. King of England wanted to increase profits thanks to possession of the colonies. Valuable Raw materials (fur, cotton,gold) were taken out and manufactured goods were imported by him. King George III. The colonists were against the king George III and his taxes. They wanted to have independence from England. The war for independence began. . The Colonists at the beginning of the war were poorly armed and badly dressed, they didn’t have enough ammunition. Many of them did not want to serve in the army.
