Nikita Mikhalkov is a Russian film director, actor, producer and political activist. Nikita Sergeevich was born in Moscow on 21st October 1945 in a creative family. His father – Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov was a Soviet children’s writer and his mother – Natalia Konchalovskaya was a Soviet poet and translator. His elder brother Andrew Mikhalkov- Konchalovskiy played the most important role in Nikita’s life.
In the biography of Nikita Mikhalkov's first acting skills were obtained in the Studio at the Stanislavsky theatre. He went to the music school during several years, where he studied piano. Nikita played a small role in the movie before his entering the theatre school of Shchukin (1963). Being a student of the 4th course he had to leave the theatre school, because it was impossible to study and to star at once. But wide popularity was received for her role in the film "I step through Moscow".
The most successful period of Nikita’s life began in 1974. At that period he met his future wife a model Tatiana Soloviova and married her. Mikhalkov's children (Anna, Artem, Stepan, Nadezhda) are also associated with the movie. Then Nikita shoot the 1st movie. Mikhalkov's first film as a director came in 1974 – "Аt home among strangers, a stranger among us". Almost every year Mikhalkov’s films were shown on TV. Soon they have received many prizes and awards in Russia and abroad. Nikita Mikhalkov received the title of people's artist of Russia in 1984.
In 1994 Nikita Sergeevich directed the film "Burnt by the sun". It was given many prizes including Cannes’ Festival Award and Oscar Award as the best foreign film.
He organized the "Studio 3T" — production association, where the first film received international recognition. In 1992 Nikita Mikhalkov became a part of Presidium of the International Fund of Culture in Russia. The following year he became Chairman of the Fund, in 1998 the Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers.
In 1999 he made the film “The Barber of Siberia” where Mikhalkov took part as a director and an actor.
The film "12" was made in 2007 and then awarded at the Venice festival "Golden lion". In all his biography Mikhalkov starred in 41 films, wrote the script for the tapes 17 films, produced 4 films, was director of 20 films.
