THE TUDORS
The Tudors were great British royal dynasty (1485-1604). They came from Wales and took the power after the Red and White Roses’War.

Henry VIIIHenry VIII (1491-1548) was famous for his 6 wives and the Reformation. Because of the Pope’s refuse to give Henry VIII the divorce, he left Catholic church and declared his own, Anglican, church and became its head.

Divorced-beheaded-died-divorced-beheaded-survivedIt was such a sad riddle about Henry VIII’s wives. Henry VIII was a cruel politician. Many English people were put to death at that time and many farmers died of starvation because of his politics of “Enclosures”
Edward VIEdward VI (1537-1553) was the son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour. He was a very clever and fair king. He died of tuberculosis when he was only 16.
Mary tudor (bloody mary)Mary Tudor (Bloody Mary) (1516-1558)was the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine Aragon. Wanted to return Catholic religion. Thousands of Protestants and their families were put to death.
Elizabeth iElizabeth I (1533-1603) was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. Her reign is called “The Golden Age of Kingdom”.
England increases its influence on seas. Francis Drake and Walter Raleigh travel round the world. England gets its first colonies. In 1588 the Invincible Armada was defeated at the Gravelin battle.
During the reign of Elizabeth I England makes diplomatic relations with Russia. Muskovy Trade Company was organized. Elizabeth I and Ivan Grozny were pen-friends.
Elizabeth’s time was the Golden Age of the English theatre. At that time such famous playwrights as William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlow created their great plays.
