Цели урока:
повторить, систематизировать, довести до уровня продуктивного владения материал по данной теме;
развивать навыки монологической и диалогической речи, совершенствовать фонетические навыки, лексические, грамматические навыки говорения, чтения, письма и аудирования,
углубить и расширить знания по данной теме,
развивать память, внимание, мышление,
развивать устойчивый интерес и мотивации к дальнейшему изучению иностранного языка,
воспитывать культуру поведения.
Оборудование: учебник, таблицы.

Фонетическая зарядка
I sometimes play computer games,

Teacher: Before speaking about different hobbies let's remember some words denoting them. We'll play a memory game. Look at the list of hobbies for a moment. Then I'll close them and you'll name the words you can remember.
Pupil 1: going in for sports, taking pictures, fishing.
Pupil 2: travelling, cooking.
Pupil 3: going to the theatre, listening to music, dancing.
Pupil 4: reading fiction, gardening…

What is a hobby?
What is a hobby? In general, it is something people do in their free time, after
work or study. But for many people hobbies have become something more important. Those people are ready to spend all their free time and money on their hobbies. How many hobbies are there in the world? Nobody knows for sure. Some people say about 1,000, others say — 10,000. One thing we can be sure of is that there are a lot of hobbies. What can hobbies be about? There are a lot of things that people are fond of doing. First of all it’s collecting of course. It is difficult to imagine all the things people collect — from the most traditional stamps to pictures. If you have ever collected something, you will understand those people. They are ready to go far away from their home just to get a small piece of paper or a stone, or something. They trade and exchange their treasures and spend all their free time next to their collections. Sometimes their collections are works of art: they can tell people a lot about different places and different people, the history and geography of a lot of countries of the world.
Answer the following questions:
How many hobbies are there in the world?
What can hobbies be about?
Why are they ready to go far away from their home just to get a small piece of paper or a stone?

Pupil 3: My favourite hobby is knitting. I like knitting very much. My grandmother taught me to knit two years ago. I have already knitted a lot of things for my doll. What hobbies have you got?
Pupil 1: I like to collect stamps and badges. My hobby helps to learn a lot of interesting facts about traditions and customs of other countries.
