“Personal Information”
Level: Elementary (6th form)
Skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing.
Language Focus: Family Vocabulary.
Combine with: “Enjoy English”, 5-6 form, M.Z. Biboletova, 2012.
Approximate Time: 45 minutes.
Materials: 1. a computer presentation;
2. a set of cards with tasks;
3. pictures about family.
Procedure:
I.Brainstorming:
T: Good morning, students! Sit down, please! I’m glad to see you! How are you? I’m fine, thank you! Who is on duty today? Who is absent?
II. Phonetic exercises:
T: Let’s start our lesson with the phonetic exercises, repeat the sounds after me:

T: And now children look at the screen and match the word and the sound.
(Power Point Presentation, слайд №2-8).III. Lexical exercises:
1) T: Let’s review our words. Please open your books p. 43, ex.7. Listen to the tape and repeat after it.
2) T: And now make up groups of four. Look at the screen and arrange the words in pairs of opposites (Power Point Presentation, слайд № 9).
3) T: And now students groups 1 and 2 name positive traits of character and groups 3 and 4 – negative.
4) T: Let’s review the negative prefixes: un-, im-, in-, non-. p. 44, ex.8. Listen to the tape and repeat after it.
5)T: Please students work in groups and make pairs of opposites (Power Point Presentation, слайд № 10). Thank you, children! Take you sits.
IV. Listening:
Pre – listening. T: So, children! We are going to listen to a dialogue between a correspondent of a youth magazine and an English student Linda Silvester. During your listening trying to answer these questions (Power Point Presentation, слайд № 11). Look at the screen, read and translate these questions.
While – listening. T: Listen to the dialogue ones more and put the sentences into the right order. (Power Point Presentation, слайд № 12). Post – listening. T: And now students work in pairs, make your own dialogues about your families. (Students work in pairs, prepare and act out dialogues about themselves). Thank you students! Well done!
V. Morning exercise.
T: I think you are tired a bit. Let’s do morning exercises.

VI. Speaking.
T: Your homework for today was to prepare a story about your family and I want to listen to your stories. Some of you have prepared presentations. (Students show their presentations).

What is his father’s job?

VII. Reciting a Poem.
T: Open your books p.46, ex. 15, we will read a poem about a family. But before look at the screen and read new words after me. (Power Point Presentation, слайд № 13).T: Listen to the tape and try to translate this poem.
