Agatha Christie 15 September 1890 – 12 January 1976 Agatha Christie is known all over the world as the Queen of Crime. Was born on September 15, 1890, in Torquay As a child, Christie enjoyed fantasy play and creating characters, and, when she was 16, moved to Paris for a time to study vocals and piano. In 1914, at the age of 24, she married Archie Christie, a World War I fighter pilot. Another of Christie's most well-known and beloved characters is Miss Jane Marple, an elderly spinster in the English village of St. Mary Mead, solved all manner of mysteries with intense concentration and intuition.
