The most part of jazz plays are instrumental ones built according to the classical scheme with variations. An improviser is nor a composer neither an artist but a very special type of musician, who creates compositions in interaction with all the band.
So improvisation is a kind of art, dialogue or music language communication. The main jazz feature is a complicated rhythm consisting of the accents which are based on “beats”.Weak parts of the tact are called “off-beats”.Strong parts of the tact are called “down-beats”. Having mixed “off-beats” and “down-beats” we form so-called “drive”.It creates the impression of movement, increasing tempo in spite of the fact it stays stable. BLUES is slow melancholic jazz. It is based on so-called labor songs. The slaves were singing working in the field. Blues is characterized with “blue notes” which can be produced by pulling the guitar strings. SPIRITUAL is a kind of religious music influenced jazz. It appeared as a mixture of Protestant chorus and Afro-American expressive means. Its contents is connected with the Holy Bible. The musical instruments are mostly the same as a symphonic orchestra has:
a saxophone;
a trumpet;
a double-bass;
a clarinet;
drums;
a piano.
