There is a monument to the first Russan president in Yekaterinburg: The heart of Ekaterinburg is formed by a Dam or so-called "Plotinka" The Church on the Blood was built on theplace where on July 17, 1918 the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his family— the Empress Alexandra, the Grand Prince Alexei, the Grand Princesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia, and their faithful servants were murdered. The bodies of the Royal family members were secretly transported to Ganina Yama and thrown into the pit.
