Direct Speech and Reported (Indirect) Speech Речь какого-либо лица, передаваемая буквально так, как она была произнесена, называется прямой речью. (Direct Speech) “I work here as a waiter,” John said.Речь, в которой передаются не подлинные слова какого-либо лица, а их содержание, называется косвенной речью. (Reported Speech) Jack said that he liked to play football. Compare direct and reported statements to say what changes were done. Dad says:”I have lost my voice.”Dad says that he has lost his voice.Dad said: “I have lost my voice.”Dad said that he had lost his voice. При изменении прямой речи в косвенную соблюдаются «правила согласования времен» Правило 1:Если глагол, вводящий прямую речь, употреблён в одном из настоящих времён или Future Simple (будущем времени), то глагол в косвенной речи (в придаточном предложении) употребляется в любом времени, необходимом по смыслу.Present Simple Mother says, - “I go to work every day.” (Direct Speech) Mother says that she goes to work every day.
