Warm-up Activities (4 min.)
Teacher: Listen to famous English poem about twenty foggies. Repeat after me the lines where one of two tenses (the Present Perfect or the Past Simple) is used.
Twenty foggies went to school
Down beside a little pool;
Twenty little coats of green,
Twenty shifts of white and clean.
Many, many years have passed;
They became big frogs at last.
They had learned at school a lot,
No one lesson they forgot.
Teacher: Read two short jokes about Bobby. Be ready to read up sentences containing:
1. Present Perfect
2. Past Simple
Work in pairs.
Text 1
Bobby and a bird
What has happened? Why are you crying, Bobby?
I cleaned the bird cage and the bird disappeared.
How did you clean it?
With a vacuum cleaner.
Text 2
Bobby and a shirt
Father, look! Mother has made a shirt for me.
Did you help her?
Yes, I did.
How did you help her?
I sat still.
Follow-up Activities (12 min.)
Activity 1
Teacher: To form the Present Perfect and the Past Simple we use the second and the third forms of the verbs. English verbs can be divided into two main groups: Regular Verbs and Irregular Verbs. Look at the list of verbs.
work, buy, read, plant, skate, speak, clean, break, like, cook, drink, visit, sleep, play, do, go, walk, wash, answer, write, ask, train
1. Write down all regular verbs. Give the second and the third forms of them. Try to explain the rules of their formation and spelling.
2. Write down all irregular verbs. Let us play the game “Noughts and Crosses” to refresh their forms. We have this game in computing variant. To play it I want you to form two teams. One team will be called “Noughts”, another one – “Crosses”. You task is to choose one of the given irregular verbs and name its three forms. If you do it without any mistakes I put your sign in a chosen square. A team that puts its signs in such orders will be the winner.

5. Relaxation (4 min.)
(Quite music)
Teacher: Sit comfortably. Close your eyes. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Let’s pretend its summer. You are lying on a sandy beach. The weather is fine. A light wind is blowing from the sea. The birds are singing. You have no troubles. No serious problems. You are quiet. Your brain relaxes. There is calm in your body. Nothing diverts your attention. You are relaxing. (Pause)
Your troubles float away. You love your relatives, your school, your friends. They love you too. Learn to appreciate every good thing. The Earth is full of wonders. You can do anything. You are sure of yourself, that you have much energy. You are in good spirits.
Open your eyes. How do you feel?

Teacher: Let's have fun. We will play an interesting and useful educational game “Fulfil the order”. We will revise our grammar material. One of you should go to the blackboard and fulfil my orders. Go to the last desk, sit down; then stand up and come back.
