It lasts from Monday till Sunday.It comes either at the end of February or at the beginning of March, this is so-called movable festival. In 2015, Maslenitza took place in February (from 16th up to 22nd).This holiday means the end of winter and the spring coming. During this holiday people visit each other, children play snowballs, light bonfires, enjoy horse-sledging.During these days people should avoid eating any kind of meat, but they should eat much butter, cheese, sour cream, lots of pancakes.  Questions:1. В стародавние времена Карачун, поссорившись с богами небесными, едва не превратил всю землю в мёртвое, заснеженное царство. Кое-как с ним поладили и решили, что часть года на земле будут царить сам Карачун и Зима, его верная подруга, а затем придёт Весна, и начнёт вершиться круговорот врёмен года. Однако, когда пришло время дать дорогу Весне, старуха Зима вдруг заупрямилась. Уж очень не хотелось ей проваливаться в подземное тёмное царство.— Не уйду,— воскликнула она, злорадно гоняя по земле самые студеные, самые свирепые метели из всех, что У неё оставались.— Не уйду, пока меня не почествуют достойными проводами. Но только так, что и сама не знаю как. Да ещё хочу, чтобы в каждом доме светило по солнышку.Боги призадумались. Зима просила невозможного! Жалко им стало людей: если не ублаготворить разошедшуюся Зиму, она, чего доброго, начнёт народ морить холодом и голодом. Вдруг светлая Лада радостно воскликнула:— Я знаю, что надо сделать!Она обернулась птичкой-синичкой и спустилась с небес на землю.В назначенное время Зима отправилась на собственные проводы. И не поверила своим глазам: в каждой избе, в каждом доме стоят на столах блюда, на которых стопками лежит что-то круглое, вкусно пахнущее.То были блины, печь которые научила людей Лада. И каждый блин светился, как солнышко! А люди веселились, плясали, пели песни, вволю пировали, разъезжали в нарядных санях, строили снежные городки и разрушали их — словом, чествовали Зиму вовсю! И называли её щедрой, хлебосольной, масляной, весёлой, честной госпожой.Старуха так удивилась, что без спора убралась с земли.Пришла Весна, но с тех самых пор люди каждый год провожают Зиму, как бы устраивают по ней щедрые поминки. В честь нового весеннего солнышка пекут масляные блины. Но зовётся Масленица не только Блинной, но и Оладьиной, потому что Лада когда- то научила людей печь не только блины, но и оладьи. to make Pancakes :Take two eggs and 0.5 l milk. Mix them into a bowl. Add some salt and sugar. Mix together. Add 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder and some oil. Mix it again. Fry your pancakes. Put your pancake on the plate. Mothers make pancakes, children build snow fortress, make snowmen. There are snow battles, toboggan, sing songs, dance. Tuesday - Attracting maids and guys’ day. Girls sing songs and dance in a ring. Young men fight. Wednesday- Dainty Day. people eat pancakes- symbol of the sun, long life and fortune. Thursday- Broad Shrovetide. It is the top of the holiday. There are maskers, buffoons, merry-go rounds, games Friday- Mother- in- law’s day. Сhildren play snowballs, toboggan. Grownups visit wife’s relatives. Mother in law’s pancakes are most tasty. Saturday- is a day of Daughter in law’s sitting. The day has 2 parts. The first part is for making snow and ice fortress. In the second part of the day they go to see husband’s relatives. Sunday is the day of Saying goodbye. It is Forgiving Sunday. People ask for pardon. People arrange rich Festivals. They say good bye winter, and meet spring. One of the players passes through the stream and chosses one of the standing students. The newly formed pair stands at the end of the line, the odd player starts from the beginning (passes through the stream, etc.)(дети инсценируют игру)   "Edible-Unedible"The player throws a ball to the students standing in semicircle. He says any word, only a noun. If it is the name of a food product the students standing in semicircle should catch the ball, if it is something inedible, they shouldn't catch it.
