London Eye
London EyeThe London Eye is situated on the south bank of the river Thames. It is also known as a Millennium Wheel. The London Eye was designed by Julia Barfield and David Marks. Construction of the observation wheel took more than a year and a half to complete. The London Eye is 135 meters high and turns very slowly. There are 32 comfortable capsules for people to stand in. Each capsule weighs ten tones and can carry twenty-five people. It takes about 30 minutes to climb into the sky. The London Eye is very popular with tourists, because many famous sights are clearly visible, including Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament.
