Тема урока: Рождество и Новый год в России и в Британии
Цели урока: развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции учащихся (речевой, языковой, социокультурной, учебно- познавательной)
Задачи урока:
Предметные : научить выражать свою точку зрения по обсуждаемому вопросу, вести диалог-расспрос; научиться аргументировать свое мнение, делать выводы, представлять презентации результатов выполненного проектного задания; научить пользоваться интернет-ресурсами.
Метапредметные: коммуникативные: адекватно произносить и различать на слух лексические единицы и речевые обороты английского языка, соблюдать правильное ударение ; регулятивные: принимать и сохранять цели и задачи учебной деятельности, находить средства ее осуществления; познавательные: осознанно строить речевые высказывания в соответствии с коммуникативными задачами, пользоваться наглядными средствами предъявления ;
Личностные: формировать мотивацию в изучении язык; формировать навыки и умения межличностного общения; развивать навыки самостоятельной работы;
Оборудование: учебник Биболетова М.З., Трубанева Н.Н. УМК “Enjoy English” для 5 класса, аудиомагнитофон, компьютер, интерактивная доска, презентация по теме, выполненная в программе “Power Point”, открытки с рисунками Деда Мороза, Снегурочки, шары, украшения.

“Сhristmas celebrations”
On the 25th of December the British people celebrate Christmas. It is a big holiday and there are lots of Christmas traditions in Britain. Every year Londoners get a present from the people of Norway - a big Christmas tree. It stands in Trafalgar Square. Central London’s streets have got beautiful decorations at Christmas. There is also a nice skating rink in the centre of the capital. A lot of people come to enjoy the Christmas decorations and to skate.

“Christmas traditions”
Before Christmas groups of singers perform traditional Christmas songs or carols in the streets and squares. They collect money for charity. People usually decorate thеir trees on Christmas Eve – on the 24th of December. Santa Claus visits each house on Christmas Eve by climbing down the chimney and put presents into the stockings. And people leave a glass of milk and a plate of biscuits for him in the kitchen.
Christmas Day is the time for presents, guests , wishes and a special meal. British Christmas dinner consists of a roast turkey with carrots and potatoes and Christmas pudding.

“New Year celebrations”
On the 31th of December Russian people celebrate New Year. There are a lot of decorations in the streets and in the houses. People buy New Year trees and put them in their living rooms. Children like to decorate them with toys and little coloured lights. There are a lot of parties at schools.
People give each other presents and send New Year cards. Children find the presents from Father Frost or Ded Moroz under the New Year tree on the 1st of January.
I like this holiday very much.
Т. Good. And what does Russian New Year dinner consist of?
P. It consists of a roast goose or a roast chicken with potatoes and carrots.

“First footing”

There is an interesting New Year tradition: you can go “first footing”. That is - you visit friends, neighbours, relatives, so you are the “first foot” of the New Year in their houses. In Russia the first visitor who comes into a house on New Year’s morning is “the First Foot”. People believe that the First Foot brings luck to the family for the New Year. And he must be a man or a boy, not a woman.
