Важным аспектом работы в выпускном классе является подготовка к выпускным экзаменам. Поэтому цел работы: с первого дня учебы итоговый контроль на ряду с изучением нового материала. Необходимо:

Так как мы ограничены рамками учебной комнаты, представим себе, что мы совершаем путешествие по воздуху в Вашингтон. У нас в гостях гид – переводчик Лилия Шкарлат. Она будет помогать нам в работе.
Я надеюсь, что мы сможем справиться с реальной коммуникативной ситуацией.

Выходит стюардесса и приветствует всех пассажиров. Гид ведет беседу с учащимися по теме Вашингтон. Достопримечательности столицы США.
Washington was chosen by G.Washington at the permanent site for the nations capital on the 1-st of December in 1800. He was the first person to be elected the president of the U.S.A.
Now the Capitol is the highest building in Washington. It stands on the hill near the Potomac River. All the other building in the capital must be lower. That’s why all the Building have less than 5 stories and there are no sky – scrapers in Washington. The Capitol is the center of the city. It is made of stone and marble and contains 540 rooms. It is situated not far from the Washington Monument, which looks like a very big white pencil and is 100 meters high. It is hollow inside and has a special lift for visitors.
The White House is the President’s residence. All American Presidents have lived in the White House. It was built in 1799. The White House has 132 rooms.
The Jefferson Memorial was built in memory of the third President of the USA, Thomas Jefferson, who was the author of the Declaration of Independence. The memorial is surrounded by cherry – these. These trees are the gift from Japan made in 1912.
The Lincoln Memorial is devoted to the 16-th President, who gave freedom to Negro slaves in America.
The Arlington Cemetery is the place where American soldiers and officers killed in World War 1 and 2 were buried. The President Kennedy was buried here to.
Pentagon, the residence of the US Military Department is situated in the suburbs and has an enormous size.
Washington is the political center only. It is not the largest city of the country. Its population is only 900,000 people. It has no big industry. But it is a large scientific and cultural center.
