The History of the Olympic Games The Olympic Games were in summer.They were held at the foot of mount Olympus. Geracl took part there.There were difference between men and women.Winners were greatly honored by having olive wreaths placed on their heads and having poems sung about their deeds.Any wars in progress were halted to allow the game take place.The first Olympic games were in 776 B.C.
In 394 A. D. the games were abolished Modern Olympic Games were revived by Baron Pierre de Coubertin “Citius, Altius, Fortius”(Faster, Higher, Stronger). The motto of the Modern Olympic Games:
